Heh! I've been doing the same thing. Not in anyway trying to steal your thunder,    here is a link that will open it in a full page view to get rid of the scroll bars if it's any help for those of us with limited screen real estate...

I've gone for the silver and black frosterisk. Funny how the drip at the bottom looks more like a tear, now.  :(

Quote from: "Nellie"We drank it on the way home on Tuesday. We didn't have a bottle opener but Nathan opened it with something or other. Everyone said Yuk and then "Oh, it's quite nice actually"  It didn't last long between 4 of us, sadly.

I know all about that kind of response to all things ginger, being a Jinja myself, only I dont always get the "quite nice actually" bit   :o

By the way, did Blunders manage to get that pram in tune? I couldnt tell it was a bit low in the mix once the gig started  :D

Quote from: "Againesis"Just adding my voice to the resounding thanks Blunders.  Never has a rhythm section made my chin hit the floor so many times during a gig.

Couldn't have put it better! Fantastic work Mr B, it was a real joy to see the gig last night.

Twas indeed brill, and really great to meet so many Frost*ies in the flesh for the first time  :D

Fig 0:

Many many huge thanks to Messers. Godfrey, Mitchell, Blundell and King for a fantastic nights fun, also to everyone else whose hard work made it all so brill. And especially Nellie, naturally.
The day did not go anything like I expected, with the possible exception of the actual gig.

Step 1: Train from Ludun to Derby, ETA 1610 - Train breaks down at Loughborough, doesnt get in until about 1700  :x
Step 2: Meet Fellow Frosties in Jonty Farmer at 1630 - finally arrive at 1810
Step 3: Expect there to a half-dozen or so Frosties there - there must have been 30-40!!! :D (see Fig 0, above)
Step 4: Go to gig, walking in -10deg C on lethal icy pavements - get given lift by kind Frostie to venue (Drarok, thx!), whose wonderous skill at driving on ice in borrowed car amazes  :)
Step 5: Wait for a bit outside hall... this one went to plan
Step 6: Get in, get beer, find good spot. Wait for somebody tall to stand in front of me - no-one does! Fantastic. :o
Step 7: Watch gig. Enjoy it enormously. Jump up and down a lot - Exactamundo.  :D
Step 8: Hang around after, have chat with Frost* members. This also went to plan. See Fig 1 and Fig 2, below.
Step 9: Get taxi back to Hotel with MikeEvs and Andy P. This sort of went to plan except I'd lost taxi number. MikeEvs to the rescue.
Step 10, Swift beer in bar then bed - This went tremendously pear shaped, in a good way. Had beer (thanks Andy P), watched England win 2nd Test. Turn around to find Mr. Mitchell standing next to me with Jem, Nathan, Nellie, Paul and others (apologies, drink has erased names from memory  :? ). Cue much revelry, then sleep (at about 2 I think  :D ) and sore head this morning. All in all, Bloody fantastic!  Thanks once again!

Fig 2:

Apologies for the megapost, I'll shut up now.

Thanks for the setlist Bopman, I was too busy enjoying myself to make any notes at the time!

We did the same as you, but our ticket checker was more vigilant and got correctly re-directed upstairs, but we were a bit late so they probably had more time to check when we got there.

Quote from: "LivingForever"How can we make sure that the keys are loud enough tomorrow?

By politely speaking to the guy on the mixing desk, gently persuading him to pay attention. I find having several front-row forwards nearby helps concentration.

Great idea for the pre-gig meet up! I wont be leaving Lundun until after 3, alas so probably wont get to the pub before 1730. I'm staying at the Jury's Inn, if anybody else staying there will be getting in around that time there's taxi sharing potential.

Oh, and the postcode for the pub gives a slightly wrong result on google maps, it's actually about 150 yards closer to the uni, at the junction with the little side road a bit further along.

Quote from: "gr8gonzo"Did they do that new middle section they did at DotR?

Dunno, I was too busy enjoying myself to notice. But in compensation, here is a photo taken during the middle section of TDL:

Sorry for the poor quality, I think I was asking a bit much of the camera in my phone  :(

It was a great night, and apart from the opening number sound issues mentioned already, I thought it was totally brill. I was quite near the front to begin with but moved about two-thirds of the way back after a couple of numbers and the sound was much better. It was also easier to get to the bar

The trouble with small venues like that is that even if you do get a chance to do a proper sound check (time constraints aside, sorry to hear it was so pushed Blunders) the acoustics are transformed by the addition of the audience. In my days on the mixer for various bands in similar venues (many years ago) we always ended up making some quite major adjustments during or after the first couple of numbers to compensate.

Thanks for looking after my stuff Nellie :D it was a pleasure to meet you, sorry for farking you about
"Got a bag for me?"
"Right here, with your name on it" (retrieves bag from pile of stuff, hands to me)
"Thanks. Can you look after it till the end of the gig please?"
(Nellie takes bag back) "I'll just put this back again then shall I?"
Cue guilty purchase of extra merch to compensate...  ;)

Due to the weather I ended up with a) an unexpected house guest and b) a spare ticket. Said House guest is not known for his proggy leanings, but given he was stranded in London with us he came along.
End of TDL: "Fecking hell!! That was magnificent! Was that medley of stuff from the CD?"
"No mate, that was ONE song. Welcome to the world of Frost*!!" A proper convert is made  :D

Roll on Derby!!

Quote from: "Pedro"The thing about Islington is that it has a crazy early curfew cos it morphs into a night-club/disco thing. So early doors prolly really does mean that for the support...unless the Frost*ies don't want any encores that is.
 :)

Oh yeah I forgot about that :(
