Other Bands / Re: Dream Theater 2011

I'd always recommend you start at the beginning. Images & Words » Awake » A Change of Seasons has to be one of the (if not The) best three successions in Prog Metal. After that it becomes questionable a matter of preference regarding Falling Into Infinity (which IMO has some sub-par songs) and then Scenes From A Memory which many consider to be on par or even better than their first releases featuring LaBrie.

IMO the new album parts with the "let's do this <hip band band name here> bit here and then go back to something there". Having Dream Theater sound like they're way too inspired by a current trend was awful.

Oh yes. Hopefully that would prompt a new EP/promo or some kind of new release :D

Quote from: "Gordon"Hello!

Just wanted to introduce myself as the guy who wrote The Apprentice, on which the track Milliontown was (very loosely) based.
Thanks, exactly what I needed, one more book to had to my already very long to-read list

Quote from: "Mikey"Only info re. SPV, Frost* & Milliontown that I can find is that SPV were the original distributors

You might want to look at this for £7.26

Right now only ones appearing are at £18 or MP3 download at £6.5.

I did however manage to grab a decent second hand one for a bit over my threshold for used CDs, but I was tired of waiting.

Punters beware, every guy from Latvia and other eastern europe countries sell only fancy illegal silver CD bootlegs. They claim to have several copies available (sometimes by the dozen!) but do not answer questions straight and eBay doesn't seem to be interested in doing anything about it.

Hope so. It's a bit sad that I only see used ones popping up for €13 or so.

Haven't heard nearly as much TSO as I should but regarding Savatage I really like the early Hall of The Mountain King phase in which later TSO influences were already present with Criss Oliva.

Great stuff. Some classics, some stuff I didn't know.

Ironically, the singer of FramePictures used to sing in a band I was in and this is the first time I actually listened to them.
Thank god for studio production magic.
