Jen has responded to me on Twitter to let me know that the "Nice Day for It" error is being (or has been?) fixed.

I don't know what that will entail though, hopefully the CDs will be reprinted or at least a lossless download.

Tried that this morning, and got the response ...

I can live with that one! It actually makes more sense to me, I don't know why they originally put the two massive epics back to back.

The missing vocals on "Nice Day", though... can't be intentional. Surely? Bad decision if so...

I know there are other bits and bobs that have been tinkered with, but this just seems like an accident.

I don't know how to contact Jem these days to ask!

The CD is also the same - no "you know who you aaaaaare" or the "First Day" vocal reprise.

I checked the instrumentals disc just in case they got swapped somehow but that's also instrumental.

Errrrm, anyone noticed that "Nice Day For It" has lost all its vocals on the main album? (Listening on Spotify right now as I haven't ripped the CD yet)

Not sure if this was a mistake (accidentally included the instrumental version?) or deliberate...?

If it was deliberate, that's a real shame - the reprise of the "there is never a survivor from the final kiss" bit really ties it back to the album opening and packs a real emotional punch...

Got our copy in the LF/Philadelphia household yesterday!

So far listened to EIMA remix (about which I think I concur with DS, it's a bit less compressed sounding, though it is still pretty brutal on the ears thanks to the constant cymbal and snare-attack!) and now we're onto "Falling Satellive" (aka "the only Frost* gig we ended up not turning up to on the day...!)

Book is a thing of wonder. Looking forward to listening to the rest of it, though I can't help but notice that nearly 4 entire CDs are made up of variations on the same material from the one album.

I've not listened to the demos yet but I could think of quite a few other "oddity tracks" I'd have expected to see on that last CD instead (1976, anyone?)

Did anyone else order the double CD with remixes?

Only I seem to have received the main album only...

I liked that a lot! As is to be expected from someone who basically shares my musical tastes.

I've just had one of the most amazing weekends ever.

Moon Safari at the Peel completely blew me away, I expected to enjoy them but not that much. They've singlehandedly restored my faith that there might still be something worth saying in the retro-prog genre. The albums are now on repeat... and the glowing feeling of happiness coming off the stage refuses to go away, despite...

Roger Waters at Wembley Stadium. Dark, gloomy, touching, thought provoking- that's The Wall. But it's also turned into the finest spectacle that money can buy. Tim and I had prime seats right at the back, face on to the stage, and to take in the whole thing from back there was a wonderful counterpoint to the close-up view I had two years ago at the O2. Everything about this show is just immense- the projections, the pyro, the wall, the sheer theatre of it all. And Roger having the time of his life, machine-gunning the crowd. The music was alright, too.

Added to that, there were all the lovely people to see at The Peel, with a delicious kebab wrap to warm up the hardy, damp souls at the end of the night. Plus there was a gigantic fry-up breakfast in Surbiton with Tim and Rob (who seemed slightly disappointed with how un-greasy the spoons were...!)

Then there was Series 1 of "Look Around You" to guffaw at for the first time, a gigantic shopping spree in Fopp like the huge capitalist pig that I am, AND the weekend finished with a Blu-ray screening of that well known piece of arthouse cinema called "Con Air".

Next weekend has got its work cut out, is all I can say!

And ruddy marvellous it is too. I never actually played it when it was available to stream so I had my first listen today. Liked it A LOT.
