Ask Frost* / Re: B-Sides Compilation?
August 28, 2016, 10:50:13 AM
I think the remixed MIlliontown was done as more of a labour of love and put up through Bandcamp as it was quick and easy without the overheads of going for a full commercial release. And Jem was concious that it was one for the fans rather than mass market appeal as the album had already been out there a while.

Frost* / Re: New album news (sort of)

It could of course be more than 8 years  ;) ;) ;)
Or anything up to 7 years and 364 days  ;) ;) ;)

(But secretly hoping the outpouring of love on the recent tour has convinced Jem that Frost* are relevant and people want more)

Other Bands / Re: Panic Room at The Fleece Bristol

If you are inclined to join in the current trend of 'pledge' pre-ordering, then the Panics have a live DVD to be filmed in October which only needs another 5% to meet it's target.

Go on, you know you want to......................

Probably tripped over something whilst recording ;D

AS we know, Jem can be a bit accident prone ::)

I think we'd ALL like to see some full band shows at some point!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

And of course, I still haven't given up hope of the TMT/Frost* bill touring as well - and what about a guest appearance on a Frost* song whilst we're at it!!!!

(as before, send my 10% in used notes to the usual address  ;) ;) ;) ;))

And I missed out the crucial part of my missive, one of the other main reasons you get such great support from us is that fact that what you do musically is bloody good.

The pleasure is all ours, and in no small way down to the fact that like Frost* and most of us on here, you don't take yourself too seriously.
I didn't manage to catch you at the Robin a couple of weeks back but did manage a hello/congratu-welldone after the Magenta support.

Now stop messing about and get on with some more music (please)  ;) ;) ;)

Mikey, don't get too tanned or you may be mistaken for one of those Europeans coming over here to steal our homes, livelihoods etc* and not let in!!!!

* Hasten to add, these are not my views, but seemingly those of some of the people who voted to leave

Gigs / Re: Frost gigs June 2016!!!

Nath is clearly one of those people I deem 'slappably good' at a variety of instruments (as in give him a slap and tell him to stop showing off, but in a tongue in cheek, envious way).
Next album I forsee them all swapping instruments for a song and still being equally good (I know JM plays bass, Jem also plays guitar/chapman stick etc, and Blunders plays other instruments as well).

Gigs / Re: Blunders' solo from CRS Wath
June 21, 2016, 10:22:33 AM
I think I mentioned this in 'how I found Frost*' but TBE & Blunders were known to each other on the drumming circuit, and (I presume) through their association with Roland.
I had seen Blunders at several drum events and music fairs demoing Roland gear and at one such event I was introduced to TBE who I then had some lessons with and mentioned this band he was part of that he thought I'd like.

Not saying that Jem won't have done his own research ( a la Steven Wilson) but it wouldn't surprise me if there was a conversation between Jem & TBE......

There was a meet & greet of sorts - Blunders & JM  were out and about reasonably shortly after the set. Managed to catch a quick chat with Blunders who said he was still suffering a bit (no that it showed).
Jem was packing away his gear and was chatting to people from the stage.
I left shortly after that as I'd got an early start today  ::)

Indeed, fantastic show at Bilston - the boys were on top form and the new material was awesome live.
Props to Kiama as well for kicking off the night in style, to a larger than usual support crowd. And Nellie was busy on merch duties so hopefully everyone got whatever they were after  :D :D

Re:Bilston parking
There is afree car park right outside the venue, but if that's full there is another car park down the right hand side of the police station (opposite the front of the Robin).

Hopefully enough for all of us!!!! :o

Falling Satellites are about to go live
Sounds dangerous, will we survive?
They'll find out in Reading
Which direction they're heading

I'm having a similar issue with my ipod - seems to be unable to play anything but the new album.
Has Jem been in discussion with U2 on how to takeover the iWorld?????
