Gigs / Charity gig at the Peel, Kingston.
October 03, 2011, 11:07:21 PM
Hi all, just thought I'd let you know about a charity gig taking place at the Peel in Kingston this Saturday (8th October). The gig is in aid of Guitarist Jason Becker who has been struck down by Lou Gehrig's Disease. The gig was originaly featuring the five finalists of guitarist magazine's 'Guitarist of the Year 2011' including the winner Rick Graham, and was going to be backed and supported by Guitarist Magazine.
For reasons unknown Guitarist magazine have let us down in a big way, and due to their lack of communication, among other things, Rick has decided to pull out.
The reason I am telling you this is that one of the finalists (James Peach) plays in Section IV, the band that I play keys for. We will be playing a collection of proggy covers and a couple of originals on the night. You can hear some snippits of our original stuff at //http://www.facebook.com/sectioniv.
Tickets are only £5.00 and it would be great to see some of you frosties there, it should be a great night.
You can find out a bit more about the event here - //http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=161138117297363

I will do my best to get a vid up when we have the song nailed but don't hold your breath! We also do Dear Dead Days + Toys which have gone down a storm on our first 2 gigs, I'll try and get some 'evidence' of these for you too.

If any of you want to take a look the band is called Section IV and our facebook is //http://www.facebook.com/sectioniv

Hi Mooncat, if Jem did auction them off It must have passed me by. I've just had a look in the gear section but couldn't see anything...
Suffice to say that if someone did have a copy of the patches that I could pinch there could be a packet of custard creams in it for them.....

Hiya peeps, just wondering if anyone had any Fantom G patches for Black light machine as my band has decided (against my protestations of it being a bit bloody hard) to cover it.
I would really appreciate a copy of any patches as I don't get a lot of time to program and it is something of a beast!
TTFN!

 Hello all,

There's not really an easy way to say this, so I'll just say it. I've decided to suspend the Frost project with immediate effect. If this were somebody else's band, I'd just say I was leaving, it would be so much easier, but it's not so easy when you've created the band in the first place...

The reasons are many - I don't feel comfortable any longer in the role of singer/front man/keyboard player/principle songwriter/principle cheque writer. Truth be told, I never have. It's all got a bit out of hand from the gently self-mocking studio project I started for fun in a shed in East Sussex in May 2004 when I was young and happy and it was always sunny.

More than that though, trying to juggle two full time careers as I have over the last 7 years has been a tough ask and has ultimately become a price to high to pay in certain areas of my life. One of which is my health. I've been to a very dark place over the last 8 days and ended up in a pretty bad way. Although I'm now emerging out the other side (a stone lighter into the bargain), I have realised that I have some serious issues I must address. I'm no longer young, I'm no longer happy and the sun is no longer shining.

These issues have made me realise that life is sometimes about doing what you must do when the time comes regardless of what other people might want or expect of you. Some things are bigger than music or bands, expectation or disappointment. Figuratively speaking, I've now been given a yellow card and my priority now is to get myself back together before I get sent off for good.

So what now?

Nothing. I'm going to go to ground for a bit. Be private. Grow some veg. Get well.

And reflect. It's been an amazing journey full of brilliant moments. Too many to list, I'm sorry it's stopped like this, so abruptly, but I've been at my wits end lately and I'm no use to anybody in an urn.

I hope you'll understand. Thank you for being brilliant.

Jem.

I for one would like to thank Jem for some fantastic music and one of the best live gigs I've ever been to.
Best of luck for the future, hope it brings all you could hope for.

I have a CME VX7 (same as vx70) midi controller keyboard for sale with a fully expanded Plugiator board installed, giving you 8 different synth engines to play with, including minimoog emulation, FM synthesis, an awesome hammond emulation and even a vocoder!
The keyboard has loads of knobs and sliders for hands on control, a full transport section, and even flying faders! There are a few (very) minor scuffs on the keyboard from my keyboard stand, otherwise in excellent condition.
You can read more about the VX7 at //http://www.cme-pro.com/products-list/product-vx.html and all about the plugiator at //http://www.use-audio.com/asx.htm.
I am looking for £599 for both the VX7 and the Plugiator.
I would prefer the buyer to collect however I am happy to send by courier at the buyers expense.
I would also consider a swap for a classic v-synth with vocal card.
PM me if you are interested.
Cheers!!!!
