Quote from: "Castalike"Hey, I am a post graduate with a Film degree, specializing in cinematography and editing. I have a HDCAM which I could shoot on and the resources (where i live and at work) to edit it together nicely. I am not so experienced with sound production, however I do have decent sound capturing equipment. I can not wait to go to the gig, got my tickets pretty much the day they came out but don't mind recording some of it for the greater good and for the awesome fan base!

I'm a Film graduate too! Or to be precise (Film and Television Production) graduate! Same difference... small world!   :)

[...]late start in music?
 if you think 23 is a late start, you've got another thing coming!

Haha I have a feeling I'm going to be treading on some toes  ;)

Quote from: "E.S."Anyone can learn to play, I truly believe that. There's all this talk about talent and gifts, but if you really want it and work for it, you'll get there. Talent can be a good start, but it doesn't matter if you don't develop it, and even then you need to practice a lot.

And it's never too late. I know people younger than me who have students in their late 50's, and they love every moment of it. Getting better quickly and creating music. Wish I started earlier than 14, but hey.. we work with what we have. :)

Good luck and have fun. :D

I totally agree, its something I really want to do just for fun! I always make the time for it!  :)

Well I have to say I am enlightened!

Haha I also could not care for anything in the top gazillion in this day and age!

Sounds like an intriguing project you have going on there! You shall have to share your sounds  ;)

Awww I was hoping it was a kiddy plastic toy thing....

I went to my piano lesson yesterday and was told I sound like a very convincing piano player (currently learning to play The Tall Ships (acoustic version) by It Bites) This put me in a very positive mind frame and convinces me I can do this!!  :D

Ok so this is a bit of a thoughts and feelings blog.... so anyone not into that stuff I'd advise to press back now  ;)

Ok so at the beginning of this year I started learning to play the piano for the first time, something I've wanted to do for a long time but never really got the chance to do, due to having 2 autistic siblings, it was difficult for me and my parents to find the time and also neither of them have any musical background at all. I'm not looking for sympathy or anything, but I just wanted to show why I wasn't able to play from an earlier age.

I'm now 23 and been playing for a good near 8 months, and I have to say I LOVE playing it! And since then I've bought myself a Korg Digital Piano and started lessons in singing and music production... Ok where do the last 2 things fit in? You may be asking...

Well since I started learning the piano, I became more interested in the 'making of' side of making music. But it makes me think 'I wish I could have learned all this years ago!' You read about a lot of musicians these days and how they all started at an early age, which never really gives me a lot of confidence. However I watch the likes of Frost* Reports and they are truly inspiring to watch! And I don't mean this in a biased way... but watching Mr Godfrey work his magic into the songs for me is a really inspiring thing. To watch someone doing what he loves doing best, makes me want to keep learning and keep on aiming for my own goal.

My goal of which is just to be able to make songs that I can perform in front of an audience. Simple as that, just to genuinely make some music of my own creation. I would love to form a band, nothing massive just a local band and just for fun. I want to be able to do this before hitting 30 at least...

Is anyone else here in the Frost* world in a similar situation to this? Or perhaps anyone could share their wisdom in this matter? Does anyone think I'm being too ambitious in this late start in music?

I'm not looking for anyone to tell me how to cut corners as I want to learn the proper way!  ;) I know full well that this will take a lot of time and patience. But I would love to hear your thoughts in this matter!

Thank you for your time  :)

Quote from: "DavSel"Another question within about a week!

Ok for this one it is a bit of an old subject but I've never been able to get hold of these tracks, but I believe its off the Rosfest CD I think? The one with Here is The News, Raining In My Heart, Snowman, The Forget You Song and so on. I was wondering if there was any chance of getting hold of these songs some how? I realise theres no chance of getting the CD nower days but really would love to get a copy of those songs as I am missing out on them badly.

If anyone could help me out, would really appreciate it  :)
