I took a chance on buying this album after it got a great review in the latest CR presents Prog magazine. Initially I was bit taken aback as it wasn't what I was expecting but my initial doubts soon passed and I'm finding this to be a wonderful album that gets better with each spin, highly recommended.

"New LP due out in 2010 supported by a tour
As was previously reported (see below for details), Rush reconvened in November of last year to discuss future plans, and Alex Lifeson had already been writing some material at home. Although I would prefer an announcement from the band themselves, we do have our first "official" announcement of a new album to be released this year. NMR Distribution's official announcement for the official 2011 Rush calendar includes the statement "New LP due out in 2010 supported by a tour." - Thanks to Marshall Blakley and Sean for the headsup!"

In that case, I owe grif an apology. If it's on PW, it's usually bang on.
No apology needed, I had my own doubts if I'm honest.  I enjoyed Snakes and Arrows and hopefully the new album will be of similar quality.

Other Bands / Francis Dunnery - Whole New World

My copy of the album arrived a few days ago, I was a bit unsure about buying it as its had a fairly lukewarm reaction from a lot of It Bites fans, and its definitely not old school prog and is very laid back. Personally I'm really enjoying it and really like what Frank has done with some of the old It Bites material. I'm sure that it wont be to everyone's taste but I'm more than pleasantly surprised.

Other Bands / Big Big Train - The Underfall Yard

My copy of The Underfall Yard arrived a couple of days ago and in that time I've sort of fallen in love with it. Obviously the title track contains some fabulous synthesiser work from our very own Mr Godfrey and some sterling guitar solos from Francis Dunnery, but the rest of the album is just as exciting. New vocalist David Longdon is hugely impressive and imo BBT have really reached a new plateau with this album. I would recommend to any Frosties out there to treat themselves to an early Christmas present and snap up a copy.

It was a great show, really good fun and intimate. A big hello to Mooncat, it was nice to meet you and I will definitely be taking your recommendation and buying the new Steve Thorne album.

I've been ordering some of the BBT back catalogue and had a email from Greg Spawton informing me that the CD's had been posted. After mentioning that I was a big Frost* fan he emailed back to say
"If you're a Frost* fan you're in for a treat - Jem really pulled out all the stops for us with his solos".
He seems like a really nice chap and even with new releases by Marillion, Porcupine Tree and Transatlantic due this year I find that I'm looking forward to The Underfall Yard most of all.

I'd just like to echo the previous post and wish the very best of luck to Jem with moving house and to say that the new live album sounds very exciting indeed. It seems like interesting times ahead for Frost* and that's all very cool indeed. Whatever the future holds I would like to say how much pleasure the band has brought me over the last few years and it really has been fantastic having had two wonderful albums to explore, both of which have made me more excited about music than I have been for many a year.  Also the this forum has introduced me to other great bands like Darwin's Radio and Big Big train and that has been a real buzz.
