Announcements / Moth's bit for charidy and quick update.
September 21, 2015, 08:19:19 AM
Morning Frosties. I'm doin me liddle bit for charidy, specifically for the CKDCF. As well as being lucky enough to perform at the saturday night benefit show, I'm taking part with many others in the sponsered walk on the saturday morning. Please folks, do have a gleg at my Just Giving Page and give what you can.  https://www.justgiving.com/peter-jones62/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=fundraisingpage&utm_content=peter-jones62&utm_campaign=pfp-share  I've set the goal at £150, but of course if we can get it higher than that that would be super. :) Thanks a lot for your support of this great cause.
Also, as some of you may have seen, I've got a few support gigs coming up. I didn't know whether to start separate topics about these or not. After all, this ain't my forum. Lol. Plus I'm typing in a mad hurry as I'm going away for a few days and I won't be near a computer. So to avoid confusion, if you want to know where I'm at please check out the lovely TMT website.

Many thanks, The Mothster

Announcements / The Moth is off to Cumbria.
September 10, 2015, 04:28:27 PM
2015 really has been the year when dreams come true for me. As well as other amazing mile stones this year, I get the chance to play a couple of songs at the CKDCF event. Many here may know all about this and some may be going, but for those who don't know this is the event hosted every year by the dynamic, dazzling Mr Francis Dunnery. It is an amazing fund raising event for the Charlie and Kathleen Dunnery Children's Fund, a fantastic and well deserving charity. The event includes a musical extravaganza from Mr Dunnery and guest stars. In the past, such heroes as Simon Rogers, Dave Kerzner and Steve Hackett (to name but three) have lent their services to this great event. It is in their hallowed footsteps I must follow, or on their virtual coat tales I shal hang, as I've been lucky enough to be asked to do a couple of ditties as part of the saturday night show. This takes place on October 24th at the Egremont Market Hall. I'm so proud to be taking part and doing my bit for this great cause. I'm very grateful to Francis and can't wait for what I know will be a spectacular show. To find out more please check out the website:
http://www.ckdcf.org/
or if you're on Facebook you could look at the event page here:

Hope to see some lovely folks Frost*ies and say hello. :)

Announcements / Live music show experiment!
September 08, 2015, 07:03:41 PM
Wasn't sure where to put this but it is an announcement after all. :) This week's edition of the Waiting Room presented by Marty dorfman, will be a special live music show with some of the cream of prog performing live via Skype! Yes you read right. From 8PM til 11PM EDT, which unfortunately for those in the UK is 1AM til 4AM saturday morning. But that's perfect for insomniacs and this will be a rare treat as we do have some great names of prog. Read more below courtesy of Marty. ......
"This Friday night, September 11, The Waiting Room on The House of Prog becomes The Progressive Coffeehouse where you will hear some of your favorite progressive artists play mostly acoustically LIVE via Skype on our incredible internet radio juggernaut coming to you at 192kbps!! This will be somewhat lo-fi and will be reminiscent of the acoustic coffeehouse experience of the 70's....with music from incredible artists of the current progressive music scene. We will have 8 to 10 acts who will have 20 minutes to entertain you and inform you as to their current activities. Riding shotgun for this affair, because I couldn't possibly do this alone as the mic will be completely live for 3 hours, will be Rob Rutz and our friend Peter Jones of Tiger Moth Tales who will also be performing for you!
Also performing for you live via Skype during this broadcast will be Ryche Chlanda of Renaissance and solo album fame!!!
Rachel Flowers will play a few of her original compositions via Skype!!! Rachel has been a performing star on Youtube and in-person on the West Coast for a few years now and her original compositions should be stellar!! If that's not enough, KERRY CHICOINE of Heliopolis, formerly of Mars Hollow, will play a few solo acoustic tunes for you! Anyone who knows him knows that Kerry is all about performing and you'll really enjoy his set!!
The complete roster of all of the performers will be revealed.......soon!!!
Hang in there....

Lovely Frost*ies, you find me in rejoiceful mood. Rejoiceful? ... Yes darn it. The little project I undertook in February is finally about to emerge. For those interested, the pre-order of the new TMT album is now available. Here is some blurb, and thanks in advance for any orders. :) :)
So here it is, the official release of Story Tellers.
Following on from the success of Cocoon, Tiger Moth Tales are proud to announce the brand new album "Story Tellers – Part 1". After seeing an internet challenge to conceive and record an album in the month of February, Pete Jones was inspired to get back into the studio. To record an album in 28 days was quite the challenge but armed with a vivid imagination and his childhood memories, Pete has written seven songs based on some of the classic children stories he listened to as a young boy. He has put his unique twist to such classic tales as Sleeping Beauty, The Pied Piper of Hamelin and The Three Billy Goats Gruff, and for those of you who like fantastic instrumentation and stunning vocal performances, look no further.
"Story Tellers – Part 1" is available now for pre-order with posting from June 29th. Alternatively, it will be available to purchase at the upcoming gigs at The Borderline on June 27th and The Robin on June 28th.
And now, it's story time.

TA-DA!!
Fellow Frost*ies, I present to you the Teaser for the new album.
https://soundcloud.com/tiger-moth-tales/story-teller-new-album-teaser
Folks may recall that in Feb, I set out to write and record an album in 28 days. Well I didn't start till Feb 3rd, but I did it. The result is "Story Teller - Part 1".
I'm not tempting fate by putting a release date just yet, but we are confidently expecting to put it out towards the end of this month. Please do check out the teaser and watch this space! ..

Other Bands / Spectral Mornings 2015
April 27, 2015, 10:40:30 PM
Evening Frost*ies! As you may know, today saw the release of the Spectral Mornings 2015 charity EP. This stunning reworking of the Hackett classic has great lyrics penned by David Longdon, who also provides stellar vocals along with Magenta's Christina. The musicians featured read like  a prog super group, with Nick D'Virgilio, Nick Beggs, and of course Rob Reed who has engineered and produced the project. Yours Truely is in there somewhere too, and awsomely Mr. Hackett himself puts the icing on this magnificent musical cake. Check out the brand new video here, where you can also find out how to order your copy.

All proceeds going to the Parkinson's society. Check it out now and help us raise loads of dough for such a deserving cause. Many thanks my dears.

Any Other Business / Modern Prog Classics. A Poll.
April 17, 2015, 11:23:44 AM
Hello me dear Frosticals. Calling all proggers. Progzilla Radio whom I'm proud to be associated with are running a poll to find out the top 100 modern prog classics. The rules are simple. Follow the link to the survey, then select your top 5 best prog tracks from the last 25 years, IE from 1990 onwards. They can't be reinterpretations/live versions/remasters of tracks from before 1990. We're litterally wanting modern greats. I'm glad to say I got some of our beloved Frost in my vote and I'm sure they will feature highly. They ruddy well ought to any road up. If you fancy it, please click here for more info and to take the survey:

http://www.progzilla.com/top-100-modern-prog-classics/
Please do cast your votes and on behalf of Progzilla Radio, thanks very much.

Exciting news for Hackett lovers, and I'm mighty proud to say I'm involved. You may have heard of this already, but I'm happy to report that a new version of the Hackett classic Spectral Mornings has been recorded, with vocals/lyrics (yes you read right) by David Longdon and Christina Booth. The Magenta conection is not intirely surprising as the whole thing has been engineered and put together by the inestimable Rob Reed. The talents heard on this beautiful reworking include Mr Longdon and Christeena as mentioned, Nicks D'vergilio and Beggs, plus the great man himself Steve Hackett. All proceeds from this great collaberation are going to the Parkinson's charity. But the extra bit of news which is blowing my mind with excitement and joy, is that yours Truely will be featuring on the EP. I'm not on the main track, but Rob did some alternative mixes which make up the other 3 tracks. He's a fan of recorders and whistles in general, and he had heard my playing. He asked me if I'd like to play on the instrumental version (track 3). I need hardly say I jumped at the chance with much excitement and gratitude. I recorded my parts and sent them over to Rob, and with in an hour or so, he sent me back a mix. What I wasn't prepared for was the stunningly beautiful arrangement which Rob had done which made my Recorder sound far better than it was. And what then knocked me sideways was the bit where I finish playing, and Mr Hackett takes over. What an unimaginable honour to be on the same track as Steve Hackett, a hero of mine for so many years. And how wonderful to be involved in this great work for a much deserving charity with some of the cream of the Prog fraternity. I don't know how to express my gratitude and i'm so glad to be a part of this. Of course I know you'll all be rushing to buy a copy or six, and you can read more about it and preorder from here:
http://www.cherryred.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=5026
Please do take a look and help us raise all we can by sharing this and spreading the word. Very happy today!

Friends Of Frost* / A new Frost*ie video!
March 23, 2015, 01:00:59 PM
Hello my lovelies. I've been wanting to do this for a long time now, and a month ago at Rob Reed's place we managed to do it. Here is my tribute to Frost. An alternative version of the wondreful Hyperventilate:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sg7JV0yVNw&feature=youtu.be

It's a little rough round the edges, but I just went for it and we thought some of it wasn't so bad. You're the first to know of this so I hope you enjoy it frost*ies. Oh, and look out for the unauthodox ending. :)
P.S., If you likey, please feel free to tell a friend. :) Many thanks. Tigermoth
