Other Bands / Looking for a new keyboard player
March 02, 2013, 04:55:43 PM
Guys, I hope this is ok but as a old Frostie, I hoped nobody would mind if I enquired whether anyone might be interested in playing keyboards in my band as we seem to have lost our previous player due to a house move. We're based in Surrey with a home rehearsal studio and write original music with a prog feel, think Porcupine Tree, IQ, Marillion etc. If anybody is interested please PM me, thanks Tom

Gigs / Rumour Frost Big Festival Gig 2012
March 05, 2012, 11:47:16 AM
I've heard through the grapevine that Frost have been asked to play at this years High Voltage Festival. I wondered if anyone else had heard such murmurings?
The Festival is great but this year, given the Olympics, I wouldn't be surprised if the venue is changed. Any news anyone :?:

I was saddened to hear today that songwriter and musician Eric Woolfson, one of the key figures behind The Alan Parsons Project, has died of cancer aged 64. Really sad news as I grew up listening to their albums such as 'I Robot', 'Pyramid' & 'Tales of Mystery & Imagination'. He was a self taught musician as well. A real loss...

Re-Southampton, made the big mistake of getting a ticket for the balcony seats. Must be my age, no more mosh pits for me but unfortunately the sound was even worse up top. Not only was it a reverberated mush but in the cheap seats it actually suffered (certainly with Frost) with a low volume level. When it was turned up the mush just got worse. Frankly when DT appeaerd it wasn't much better. That'll teach me for wanting a sit down.
On the plus side I thought both bands played brilliantly and certainly complimented each other. At a better venue it would have been the gig of the year without doubt.
Thanks Jem but  hope to see you and the lads again at the Peel real soon. Cheers Tom

Frost* / Re: Reviews: Frost* at The Peel
December 21, 2008, 11:02:42 AM
What a great night.......more of a party than a gig.
Thanks to Jem and the lads I also have a new Santa hat ( for those of you that couldn't make it, Jem threw dozens of Christmas hats out into the crowd).
I thought the musicianship was sublime although JM was struggling in the early part of the show with guitar feed-back problems.
Andy was exceptional on the drums and what a cracking voice Declan has.
John was a solid as ever on bass whilst Jem remains the keyboard master.
All in all a fabulous night and for me the first time I've actually managed to see the guys live so what a treat.
I took lots of pictures so will upload in due course and finally I was happy to give away my two spare tickets to a pair guys who were genuinely into the music.
Nice to meet you all, hope you have a great Christmas :D
