Frost* / Re: Missing Jem's Blogs
August 07, 2009, 01:27:37 AM
I very much miss Jem's blog.  It was witty, entertaining and always brilliantly put together, but I suppose all of that takes time, so I can understand why he's called time on it (at least at the moment).  I'm holding onto a vain hope that it may resurface at some point.  It was always my main Frost* news source.  I don't have as much time to crawl the forums as I used to.  And I'll probably get round to Twitter round about the time it stops being popular... that always seems to be the way with me.  As far as web related technology goes, I tend to scratch my head and stare at it with a baffled expression for ages, then, by the time I take the plunge, it seems to have moved on to some other wonderful thing... the cycle repeats...

Erm, yes.
Fortunately for you, it's all written down in posts on this forum! ;)

Yeah... been sifting through.  'Shitloads' would be the answer to my original question (!)

I used to stay in the loop via The View from the Cube when I was busy, but that seems to have gone now too  :(   RIP - Jem's blog (Frost related or otherwise) was always a great read!

Also, whilst the new site's looking great, it's missing a news and gigs page... guess things have quietenned down a bit at the moment?

Been a bit out of the loop these last few months (now I'm a man of leisure for a little while)... New website?  New BASS PLAYER???  New song?

Anything else I missed?

Wow... what an achievement, and what great exposure for the band.

Well done!

What a brilliant review!  Kind of sums up why I like this band so much...

It's a great logo... I've had quite a few people ask me about it, so it does get people intrigued.

Sean, your avatar is AMAZING!!  Where'd you find it?

Very sorry to see Andy go, but glad to hear he's found such a great job.  Onwards and upwards...

Just after 'Wonderland'.  Starts at about 6 minutes into the running time (quietly) and goes on for about 10 minutes... in fact, I think it's the longest track on the album (correct me if I'm wrong...)

Yeah, TLD told me it'd be sent out next week at the earliest too.  I can understand that what with them having to reorder stock and get them all signed again, but it makes me very pissed off with CRS.  Still, TLD did say she'd send the shirt out today, and I'm listening to emusic's EIMA... so I can't complain too much...

Frost* / Re: CRS selling EIMA

I'd contact TLD.  CRS seem to have well and truly fucked up a good deal of the Frost* orders, but I copied and pasted my original email confirmation to her, so hopefully she got that ok and it will be on its way within the week.  I believe I'm lucky t have at least got a confirmation email though, so I'm not sure what to suggest for people who didn't get one.  Maybe give CRS a call?

I think it's fair to say that CRS have messed up big time here, and I suspect a lot of us who were expecting our albums in time for release will be pretty pissed off, considering we could have bought them physically, but it's important to remember that it's nothing to do with anyone close to the band, and remember how hard they're working...

Well, TLD just confirmed to me that CRS lost my order  :(  so, if anyone else is in the same boat, looks as though we'll be waiting a bit longer yet.

Should have listened to people's negative comments about CRS- what a crap service!!

I PMd TLD last week, but didn't get a reply.  I'll hold out and see what comes tomorrow morning before trying again.  Wouldn't want to create unnecesary work for her, only to find CD and Shirt in tomorrow's post...

If we pre-ordered through classic rock, but don't get the album (and t-shirt) early this week, who do we need to contact?  I spoke to JJ last week, and he said the CRS stuff was mostly sorted, tried to check with TLD but she hasn't replied, and it's a no show as of yet.  I can't complain, cause i've been listening to it since Saturday (thanks to emusic), but I have a funny feeling that the CD and shirt may end up vanishing into CRS hyperspace!

Frost* / Re: EIMA - Whats your favourite track ?
November 17, 2008, 02:17:15 PM
It's a tough one, cause it works so well as an album, and hearing it in sequence has further highlighted the brilliance of tracks we already had (notably the title track, the production of which, on the tour cd, i found to be a bit harsh, so that when the rocky bits kicked in, and when listening to the outro, it hurt my head a bit... now it sounds sumptous!)  Listening to 'Welcome to Nowhere' and 'Saline' a lot, because they're the least familiar; and they're both excellent.  I'm amazed jem managed to keep them from us for so long.  'You/I's a little gem too, with a brilliant 'sod off' lyric.  My favourites overall, though, are probably 'Falling Down' and 'Toys'...

Yeah- i've noticed the buzz too.  I quite like it- adds a sudden moment of cube warmness.  I don't like recordings to be too perfect.  I like the fact you can hear the bass-drum pedal sqeaking all the way through Zep's 'Since I've been Loving You'...
