Friends Of Frost* / T3E Remix Comp
November 15, 2012, 10:47:54 PM
Hi folks,

I really should check in here more often...  :?

Anyway, we're doing a little remix comp over at thethirdending.com - full stems are available for two of our 2012 tunes (Frame by Frame and Belong to Me) and we're trying to spread the word as far & wide as possible. I know there are some very talented Frost*ies hereabouts, so I'm vaguely hoping we might be able to tempt one or two of you to try your hands :)

Cheers,

Ask Frost* / I'd love to give you more of my money

But there's no way to buy a download version of TPE!
 :(

I like "real" albums, so I've just ordered the CD/DVD jobbie, but I'm also a dweller in the instant-gratification 21st century, and I'd be quite happy to buy it twice so that I might take in its goodness immediately.

Just saying... :)

Friends Of Frost* / Me-related progness
December 09, 2009, 11:45:38 AM
Oooer, I never posted this here.

I'm on an album again - hurrah! Venezuelan progsters "Echoes" asked me to record a vocal for them, and being the loveable chap that I am, I was happy to oblige. About two years ago.

So it's finally coming out, and the tune "leaf motif" is up on myspace:

Or you can read my whole overblown blog saga about it at my site:

I just came across the accursed vintage roland "du du du du du du du du" in a very pretty little song from Aussie alternative/pop/opera (no kidding) artist Kate Miller-Heidke.

2:39. Cool :)

Warning - the prog-elite will probably find very little of value in this song. That's OK, everybody's objectively wrong from time to time :)

Ask Frost* / AudioBoojum - what ho? how?
June 03, 2009, 01:27:26 AM
Umm...

Unless you have an insert point on your larynx, I'm assuming you're post-processing your Boos somewhat. I just curious as to how that's working when it comes to uploading - the iPhone app is the only way I could find to actually record and submit anything.

Enquiring minds would like to know  :?

Friends Of Frost* / T3E - new track for Christmas
December 24, 2008, 12:36:14 AM
Mornin' all :)

We were going to wait til Christmas day, but the cat's been let out of the bag early already, so I thought I'd spread the news.

We've got a song available for a limited time that's (probably) going to be on the new album.
You can click this bunch of words to download it.

Let me know how/if you like it :D

Any Other Business / Beagle
December 04, 2008, 03:28:48 AM
I was just thinking about the etymology of the word "Beagle". I recall reading in a book a few years ago that it was based on the Gaelic "beag" (meaning "small") but on some further research I've found a few other possible explanations. Perhaps from the French begueule ("open throat") or beugler (meaning "to bellow") and the German begele (meaning "to scold").

I'm confident that I speak for all of us when I say that it's a conundrum worthy of our attention. But perhaps even more important (if you can imagine) is that it is currently 2:25pm in Hobart, Tasmania, and I haven't had a lunch break yet because I'm exporting a rough mix of episode 15B so that I can FTP it to the composer.

So, in conclusion:

I hope that clears everything up.

Friends Of Frost* / The Third Ending
December 02, 2008, 11:36:03 PM
Righto. Eponymous asked some questions back in late August (!!!) which I utterly failed to answer, or even to be aware of. in my defence, I was busy getting married at the time, but I believe I've exceeded the statute of limitations on that excuse now.

So without further ado:

QuoteQ1: How's that new album coming?
Very nicely! Progress has been slow due to various "real-life" committments (two marriages, a house purchase, various professional schisms), but we're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Sounding a little different this time around, a bit more guitar-centric (although I have yet to tackle the keys in earnest, so I expect I will be providing a bit more on that front before we're done). We're also leaning away from the big long epic interconnected "Fingerprints" style thing so far. A lot more song-based.

QuoteQ2: Does the new album have a title?
Not really, no. A couple of options have been put forward, but nothing set in stone.

QuoteQ3: Is the band name a reference to Wim Wenders' "Until the End of the Film" (er, sorry, "Until the End of the World"), which clearly had three or more endings? Perhaps the third is your favorite? At least it was a better view than "The Unbearable Lengthness of Movie"
Hah, nope, I haven't seen it. What does happen in the third, out of interest?

QuoteQ4: Was Kevin Gilbert an influence at all? I hear bits of him throughout T3E, but it might just be me
Absolutely (I think fingerprints sails pretty close to the definition of "influence", listening back). Big fan, particularly love The Shaming of the True.
