Righto. Eponymous asked some questions back in late August (!!!) which I utterly failed to answer, or even to be aware of. in my defence, I was busy getting married at the time, but I believe I've exceeded the statute of limitations on that excuse now.

So without further ado:

Q1: How's that new album coming?

Very nicely! Progress has been slow due to various "real-life" committments (two marriages, a house purchase, various professional schisms), but we're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Sounding a little different this time around, a bit more guitar-centric (although I have yet to tackle the keys in earnest, so I expect I will be providing a bit more on that front before we're done). We're also leaning away from the big long epic interconnected "Fingerprints" style thing so far. A lot more song-based.

Q2: Does the new album have a title?

Not really, no. A couple of options have been put forward, but nothing set in stone.

Q3: Is the band name a reference to Wim Wenders' "Until the End of the Film" (er, sorry, "Until the End of the World"), which clearly had three or more endings? Perhaps the third is your favorite? At least it was a better view than "The Unbearable Lengthness of Movie"

Hah, nope, I haven't seen it. What does happen in the third, out of interest?

Q4: Was Kevin Gilbert an influence at all? I hear bits of him throughout T3E, but it might just be me

Absolutely (I think fingerprints sails pretty close to the definition of "influence", listening back). Big fan, particularly love The Shaming of the True.

Good lord - 13 pages in and the conversation still actually pertains to the thread title.

I like EIMA a lot. First impression was actually pretty lukewarm, but with a couple more spins it has really grown on me.

In the past I've found that the albums I love from the get-go are the ones that wane the fastest. Conversely, the stuff that takes a little while to settle in usually seems to last the distance, and I'll listen again and again.
