Other Bands / Proggers Poll
« on: November 03, 2009, 09:25:21 PM »
ELP reformation...

Whaddya think ?

Laugh ?

Cry ?

Me I dunno. I just hope they don't make compete arses of themselves...

Oh wait, they did that with Love Beach.

Ladbrokes have a book running; 10-1 on they split up again before reforming.

Greg Lake's rider expressly states NO pies...

... anyway, my Mother in Law, etc etc :D

I applied for beta testing, but they won't let me play.

Booo  :(

Any Other Business / Chickens

I've decided I want to keep some Chickens...

That's it....

No really, I've decided I, yadda yadda...

Now, I did have a plan earlier in the year but my bout of insanity got in the way. Trouble is, I always have to go and research stuff on that pesky internet thing and end up with analysis paralysis.

So it is I come to you, dear Frost*ies, in the hope that you can provide me with some sensible advice. I want to keep max 4 - one for each of us. I have enough space, just can't make up my mind on accommodation and stuff:-

Do I go Wood or trendy Eglu type thing ?

Pure breeds, hybrids or rescue hens ?

Is Red Mite really a big problem ?

It's like walking on eggshells, I tells ya :-)

All help gratefully received. I might even bring you an egg.

Any Other Business / The 4%ers
« on: June 25, 2009, 04:14:50 PM »
Has anyone else noticed, amongst the real ale drinking prog fraternity (no stereotypes from me, oh no :-) ) the new lager paradigm, namely the emergence of 4% lagers ?

In my neck of the woods, yer normal lager (Carlsberg, Heinekin, Fosters et al) are known as "dancing" lager, whilst your Stella's, Export, 1664 etc are known as "fighting" lager.

Which begs the question, as I sit here in 27C and 55% humidity, as to what these interim lagers should be called ?

I have to say, I'm a bit of a fan - all that fighting lager taste without the face removing hangover potential (dependant on quaffage of course).

Any Other Business / What AM I Doing ?
« on: January 26, 2009, 03:29:29 PM »

Ahh, Twitter...

Apotehoisis or nadir ?

Never mind that - if I spend all my time on networking sites, boards and writing blogs, how will I find the time to do/think of stuff to write on said sites/boards/blogs ?

Is this the paradox of Social Networking ?

What is the theoretical maximum of interaction before the law of diminishing returns sets in ?

Answers on a (virtual) postcard... hang on, that's just given me an idea...

Other Bands / Subdivisions - Roof Version
« on: January 24, 2009, 11:09:20 AM »
Here's an amazing version of Rush's classic "Subdivisions" by a man on a roof.

Aoplogies to anyone who's seen this before, or finds them ever so slightly offensive, but these are funny :D

Other Bands / Emerson
« on: January 05, 2009, 09:04:06 PM »
Anyone got the Keith Emerson Band (feat Marc Bonilla) album ?

Seems a pretty good return to some halcyon Emerson trademarks and playing, but brought up to a nice sheen with a 21st Century cloth.

What say you, fellow Frost*ies ?
