Ask Frost* / Snowman Chords/Tab
December 27, 2012, 12:50:47 AM
Hi all,

I am attempting to cover "Snowman" with some friends but struggling to learn the chords in use. I found a post from 08 on here where someone linked a tab file, but the link has expired. Does anyone know the chords I can use to get started? Thanks!

Back again.  Not sure if anyone has heard of Jack Conte //http://www.youtube.com/user/jackcontemusic#p/c/7AB19A9722C8BE31.  A friend just told me about him.  30 minutes ago, i had no idea he existed.  2 minutes ago, i finished purchasing all of his music.  He plays a myriad of instruments and even programs drum parts from samples he makes himself.  Insanely talented.

Anytime!

//http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12_Rods  <----Here's the wiki page, which details most of the bands the guys have been in since the breakup.  There's a pretty wide range of styles...i'm sure everyone on here would enjoy something from this group.

Ask Frost* / Halloween, Alaska and Other Good Bands

Hi Jem,

I had been away from the site for a while, but i was catching up on the blog and saw the latest post regarding Halloween, Alaska and member Evan Olcott.

Evan and brother Ryan played in an amazing band called 12 Rods back in the late 90s/early 00s.  Ryan was the songwriter and singer, and Ev did synths and guitar.  Amazingly forward-thinking rock music.  Dave King (current drummer in Halloween, Alaska i believe) was also the drummer for 12 Rods during their last couple of years.

Ryan has gone on to form a couple bands: Food Team and Mystery Palace.  Both have prominent electronic flourishes, and Food Team was Ryan's attempt to demonstrate how mangled and circuit-bent keyboards could be used to achieve pure awesomeness...ness.

I was extremely happy to hear that someone else really enjoyed H,A, and i hope you (plus any-and-all forum folks) get a chance to check out some of these other bands soon.

Right now, gotta go w/"Dead Dead Days."  The bridge riff (featured on one of the Frost Reports) is so damn catchy...just wish it went on longer.

I didn't realize there was such an issue w/the CRS orders until checking this forum.  I'm order 1993.  Ordered at the end of october and received the album on november 18th.

Quote from: "Jem"I'm happy to have him go because I'm happy for him for what he's leaving us to go and do.
He's my mate first and foremost.

Ah, got it.  Don't you love the internet's complete lack of context in communications?

Thanks for the clarification, Jem!  Best of luck to Andy as well.

Quote from: "szabiakanich"I (or basically the whole community probably) totally trust your decisions Jem. And again, sorry for my poor phrasing earlier. I didn't want to come across as rude or something. I just enjoy Andy's drumming. That's all. :) I'm sure the new guy is going to rock too. No doubts there.

I agree w/this, in that i'm merely bummed that it's the (semi) loss of a talented member of the band.  I'm glad i came on here and read the comments, because judging by Jem's blog, it almost seemed like he was happy to have Andy go.
