Frost* / Re: Jem and the Holograms

It came out ? I thought it was for 2016 !
LMAO, not even sure it had ANY French advertising.
Will watch it 'cause my fave band covered the theme and I really enjoy it.
(better than the original - Trust me I'm a Frost*ie)

By the way, nice signature. I thought about using a Frost* quote in mine but then it would have been the same line than yours so I won't :P Or I'll have to find another one.

Great, will give it a try then :-)

But if ever I write that "flood" rhymes with "food" and "blood" you'll have to blame yourself :-)

By the way did you know Manon Lescaut was a short novel by French author Abbé Prévost published in 1731 and that it was controversial in its time and banned in France upon publication? Despite this, it became very popular and pirated editions were widely distributed. In a subsequent 1753 edition, the Abbé Prévost toned down some scandalous details and injected more moralizing disclaimers. I'm reading it at the moment because my name might have became popular in France thanks to this quite creepy dude  ;)

Heh !
Fine !

I have lived quite everywhere in France (including the cute lil' island called Corsica) when I was a kid 'cause my Dad's workplace changes every year or so, but have chose Paris when I was 15 because it's freaking amazing and also the best place to study. I've been studying cinema for a while, realised it wouldn't pay the bills, so I've changed my mind and studied linguistics until I realised it wouldn't pay the bills either (dayum). Then I studied language education, a teacher can make a living (well, I think?, never been good at picking a well paid career plan) and now teaching English to young French children (mostly by forcing them to listen to Queen) and studying/doing research for La Sorbonne.

Am about to move down under to Melbourne, Australia, because I've always rather fancied a marsupial (hoho).

Unfortunately unable to join the limmerick topic (which is the highlight of the forum really) cause I often mispronounce words.  :-[ :-[ :-[

Ask Frost* / Re: Song Meanings?
March 07, 2016, 11:10:41 PM
I almost answered "lmao" to a post in an even older thread but stopped myself.
Laughing at very old jokes.

I found a message saying "oh god, Jem hasn't posted here or on Twitter in FOUR DAYS, is he still alive ?", and yep sadly it reminds us he seems to be less regularly online now  :-\

Apart from Pocket Sun which is about sex AND cheese.

Delighted ( ;D ) to hear all the songs are partly French.

Haha, I'd rather stay on topic for now, I have to pretend I am well-behaved as I'm new :) I'll find a better place asap.

But as you mentioned cakes, I saw it was an usual question for newbies : my favourite cakes/bikkies are the australian Tim Tam's.
Happy to refill the biscuits jar : that's what we Frenchies do when we are invited at some friends' place for tea-time  ;)

First time I talked about Jem to my friends (it was something like "Whoa, there's an amazing band called Frost*, and the guy, Jem, is ...") they cut me and all said in one voice "Jem! is truly outrageous, truly truly truly outrageous".
I hate this generation.

I can't find any topic where people introduce themselves, but I haven't checked everywhere just yet.
Thank you though, I will definitely ask if I want anything :-)

Frost* / Re: How did you discover Frost*?
March 07, 2016, 01:24:19 PM
I discovered Frost* through another fan club of the band Toehider; a few "brohiders" (Toehider's "Frost*ies") were talking about Frost* and said that strangely enough, even though their music was really different, every Toehider fan seemed to enjoy Frost* very much.
I said I didn't know Frost* at all and that I would like to check them out to see if their hypothesis was right.
One of them sent me a youtube link to Dear Dead Days and I instantely fell in love :-) although my favourite is now Saline.

Whoa, this is really cool.

Drarok's website really seems to be the perfect Ali Baba's cave :-)
