Frost* / Re: Secrets found in the music
September 14, 2018, 11:22:52 PM
Hi Karsten,
Welcome aboard.   :)
It can be quite quiet on here these days but the natives are (mostly) friendly.  ;D

Yes, we have between us figured out most, if not all of the embedded messages...that we know about.  ;)

The first was the backwards bit in Milliontown;"do not play this backwards please unless you live in Belize I will come round to your house, make you cups of tea"). I was so proud to contact Jem about it and be told I was the first to call it in.

Also cracked the morse code in Welcome to Nowhere ("I buried Andy") and the morse code in Closer To The Sun on Falling Satellites ("Anyone fancy a pint?")

It's true, I saw it. That said Nathan is on tour in the UK with Level 42 and Craig is either doing a clinic or working with Mr Wilson, so it would just be Jem and John.
Craig isn't boating this time, Nick and his beautiful ox are depping again. ;D

In the spirit of discovering old stuff lying around in dusty computer corners, I found a copy of my New Year's message from that show and, since the link I posted way back then is now dead, I just uploaded it to Soundcloud, here.

Well, yes, but the old one is still there and the hinges on the doors haven't torn off yet...

Indeed. Lantern and BWT are considered to be bonus tracks and starting and ending the "main" part of the show with Jem on his own was really nice.

It was a great show and a great audience reaction (if you ignore the shocking lack of respect for Romain's set by the yammering idiots).

Yet another stunningly beautiful track from The Depths Of Winter...the track is called "Migration". Enjoy.

I'm pretty sure it was Nathan's first recording with the band - but I'll have to check on the notes in TPE when I get home.

From Wikipedia so it must be true :-

QuoteThe Dividing Line[edit]
On 2 February 2010, Jem announced via his blog that he had been invited to participate in the 10th anniversary party of The Dividing Line Broadcast Network, Vancouver, British Columbia's internet-based progressive rock radio station. Godfrey accepted, and, to thank them for their support of Frost*, tasked himself to write and record a new Frost* song, aptly titled, "The Dividing Line," to be completed within the eight weeks then remaining until the party.

Godfrey gathered not only fellow Frost* mates John Mitchell (It Bites), Andy Edwards, Dec Burke and Nathan King, but also enlisted the talents of Tara Busch, Mark "madfiddler" Knight, Lyndon Connah and original Frost* guitarist, John Boyes, for the one-off project. A special Frost* Report, Dividing Line edition, was posted on Godfrey's blog, as well as PlanetFrost*, the band's YouTube channel, providing a video chronicle of the song's status.

Jem announced on 31 March on the Frost* forum that the track was completed and would be included as a bonus track on the 2-disc live album, "The Philadelphia Experiment."

"The Dividing Line" premiered during The Dividing Line's 10th anniversary broadcast on Saturday, 3 April 2010.

In defence of the Bot, Blunders probably didn't give a date when he signed up.

Anyway, yes (belatedly) Happy Birthday Blunders!! :D

Other Bands / Re: Trinity Live 27th May!

That's brilliant.
I always feel a bit left out at auctions, only because I can't splurge money like that.
I also have to wonder if it's the best model to raise money but I guess it depends on the crowd and the item.
For example, would there be more than 70 people willing to buy a £5 raffle ticket for this prize?
Perhaps it doesn't appeal to that many people so the auction model is better.

Either way, best of luck to both the cause and the winner. I look forward to seeing the results! :-)
