Hello all!

I have a bit of a tech question for those who know about MIDI. Ready? Let's go!


So I have a Yamaha DTXpress IV and I wanted to create some "Human-but-MIDI" drums for the project. I have them connected to my laptop using a midi to usb cable and recording them using reaper. This part is fine, I can see that all the right midi's have triggered on the midi map thing (?)

However, I've tried playing it back using Kontakt player and the Pop drum kit included with the factory selection but not all the sounds are coming out. For example, say  I've hit the ride on all 8th notes per bar, the ride sample might trigger only twice?

Any ideas?

Hi Crag, why have you not yet been invited to touch Jem's keyboard? From my past previous watchings of gigs, many Frost people touch the keyboard to produce what I can only describe as a fluting effect in the song Milliontonnes.

When can we expect you to touch Jem's flute?

Just been following Jem's links of nicey, can't say I got into all of them but BFF definitely struck a (dis)chord with me.

Anyone else enjoy them? I thought bop was excellent.

Someone is going to have to fill me in on who these Losers are.

I think I found them on myspace but the terrible myspace player won't let me play any music of theirs  :x

It's ok, I found some youtube videos. Not really my thing but I recall Jem saying the new album would be different so shall reserve my opinion for that

Christmas 2010, I took up a job at Royal mail....

Final 15 or so minutes would always go to The Dividing Line so I could get out there smiling and bouncing around the (particularly) large warehouse that was (amongst other things) where I (sometimes) sorted (unsorted) the letters.

Used to have a bit of a run to "A nightmare to remember" by Dream Theater as it seemed to fit a nice pace of jogging and walking.

But I gave that up because it was too much hard work.

The running was ok though  :mrgreen:

I'm just traversing through Music Radar's coverage of the event. Will have to keep my eye on the Nord Drum that's been announced. I have hopes that because it is Nord it'll be capable but so far it hasn't wowed me  :cry:

I discovered the Frost Reports after I had discovered and listened to quite a bit of EIMA and I think one of the most mesmerising aspects of Frost* is how, when watching the reports, you could see how the songs were put together.

So for that reason, I am entirely for hearing snippets of the new album, I don't think it'd ruin it for me but that is my opinion
