Nope, you are not alone... I don't think there is a Rush album I don't like, and whilst some may be weaker albums, even those have some corking tracks on them (and a weak Rush album is still far better than most...)

E.S.

That's right. It's only weak by Rush standards.  8-)

The middle 8 in BU2B could have been lifted straight from Hold Your Fire, what with the arpeggios and synth washes n'all.

I think PW is a real classic. Not one duff track - almost as flawless as Moving Pictures.

HYF was the first (and about only) Rush album I've ever been slightly disappointed with. Never quite gets alight for me.

The new tracks are really good; VV excited. Seriously considering a stateside trip to the Time Machine tour

I went to see it.  I love seeing them live and they are one of my favourite bands but they have never been one that I know the history of so for me it was very interesting and often quite funny.

I love Hold Your Fire.

I have only given Caravan a couple of plays but I thought it was HYF style more than S&A.

An interesting perspective, and I can see what you mean. It has the catchy song construction of the best bits of 'Hold Your Fire' (i.e. an uplifting chorus that you can actually sing along with), but the production is much grittier, along the lines of 'Snakes and Arrows' - but that's my relative noviceness showing me up, I'm sure.

I enjoyed the film so much, that I realised only 7 Rush albums really wasn't enough. Thankfully, Amazon is flogging most of them for under a fiver each (even including the 'Rush in Rio' live triple album). So now I've got about double that number, and a lot of Rush to torment my kids during the school run.

H3WMW

Quote from: "Mouse"After listening to both a good few times now, I can say that I love 'em. It's nice to hear some keyboards back in the mix giving just that little extra bit of depth, and Peart's on fire with his drumming. Marvelous!
I totally agree with everything you said Mouse.  I'm a huge Rush fan.  Been into them since 1988.  The fact that they've released something new is marvellous.

Just finished watching the Blu-Ray of this documentary, and it's excellent!

I started to watch the extras, as they seem equally good. Highly recommended  :D

Hey I was there   :o

Great Show!  Was cool to see Moving Pictures, and their big 'ol mothership light rig

I nearly cried when I saw that Time Stand Still, Presto and Marathon were in the setlist. I hope they include at least one of those when they do the full world tour next year. I've watched a few of the other videos from that gig, and the whole Steampunk look is fantastic. Was that a cat I heard miaowing with the intro synth of The Camera Eye?

I just them last night at the NY state Fair. Man what an awesome show!!

I grabbed two copies of the Caravan cd single. Nice to have the real deal instead of an Mp3.
