Even though it's not a happy kind of holiday to be celebrating for us folks in the U.S.
it's still a nice day here in the north east to lounge relaxing and having some good grillins.
I got a pork tenderloin slowly cooking away(apple bourbon marinade) and cubed
chicken is bathing in the speedy sauce. About to grab a beer...bring on the shish-kabobs!

Time to pull up a chair and enjoy the nice cool breeze off Lake Ontario.   :D

*edit*  I of course wouldn't take it for granted that the very freedom I have at this moment
was fought for,and is still being fought for.

Sorry - Brit here had to look it up as it is plain old Whitsun here.  Memorial Day.  We should have a day like that.

EVP, what's Lake Ontario like? It sounds wonderful!

Geetar

It's big. It's wet. I have a little patch of land with nothing on it there - 10 minutes south of the lake (near Waterport), with a salmon river in the bottom corner.

The local accent is quite the comedy turn.
This space for sale.

I have to say first off that the lake isn't in direct view from my house.
The lake can be either a complete savior on those hot and humid summer days
acting like an air conditioner,or it can be a a complete bastard in the winter
and in both situations, it depends on the wind direction. yesterday we had a decent
WNW breeze that just made it perfect to sit outside and enjoy in the sun

It's out of view from here, but still close enough to be affected. Another Frostie
who used to live near by the Lake is Landslug, though he lives in PA now, he
could comment as well.  My aunt and uncle live up here in the summer and they
have a camp right on the shore, about 30 feet from the water. I've kind of
avoided swimming for years as one of our local beaches had some kind of issue.
I remember some days there being a lot of sea weed when I was a kid.
There are,as you could imagine some really nice beaches/parks all along the shore.

Rumor has it that country singer Faith Hill and her husband Tim Mcgraw own
a chunk of land in Fair Haven, about 25 miles to my north west, right on the lake.

It is up there with two of my top weird experiences.  Swimming in the dead sea v swimming in Lake Ontario.  You know what to expect with the dead sea but swimming in something so big that didn't have salt was really peculiar.

I'll have to imagine I'm there with those perfect conditions during the Summer, when Great British rain and wind make all ventures outside annoying to impossible. Aaaah, relaxing...  8-)

Cheers chaps!
