Hi guys & gals,

I missed the very early Frost* gigs, and feel I may have missed out a bit in not hearing any of Jem's useful introductions to the songs - e.g, I feel I know all I need to know about Pocket Sun, courtesy of his introduction when it was still 'new'. But what about the story behind Milliontown itself? I love this song, and I've read the lyrics, and all that, but what's it actually about? And where does the comment about not wanting to meet an Angel fit in?

Apologies if this has already been done to death, but a few pointers would be great. As would any background info on songs like Dear Dead Days, Welcome to Nowhere, etc

 :D
...but there\'s nothing more to say...

Milliontown is really simple.

It's about a goat that wishes it could eat the cheese that is made from its own milk, but knows this to be against the natural goat order. Driven slowly insane by lust for fermented curd products, it tries to sate itself on the cheese of the cow, the sheep, the cat, the otter, the kangaroo, the pebble, the oak-tree, the car-park and the belgian. After each cheese it finds itself unsatisfied, and is compelled to slaughter all of that species. Finally goats are the only lactating species left on earth, and they claim our hero as a god, and his deviant desires are undulged in a fiery ritual.

The Other Me is about losing your car keys.
I was a victim of goose-flirting the other day.
This bleeding great goose came up to me and wanted a light.
I said no.
Goose, there\'ll be no flirting today.

@Tom: The cheese of the Belgian?!    Tom, for that you win the award for, er... something. Enjoy!  :)

'car-park' was my personal high-point.

Think yourselves lucky, Nicky sometimes has to put up with this for hours at a time...

You might have noticed that we're not very good at keeping to the subject around here but if I may do that for just a moment......

Milliontown was inspired by this
"F#?K OFF, GRANDAD!!!!"

Perhaps we can't go off-topic without actually being on-topic for at least 2 posts?

Anyway, after watching all the Frost* Reports and conducting an extensive search of both this forum and the old one I have gathered together the following explanations....

"Dear Dead Days" describes the bewildered state you enter when you realise Bambi's Mum has been shot.

"Welcome To Nowhere" was inspired by a sign Jem saw over the entrance to a naturist holiday resort.

"Toys" was written after hearing Bob Geldof talking about smart neckware.

"Wonderland" celebrates a memorable poker game at which Jem gained the deeds to the plot where the Cube was built.

"Milliontown" is about Aunt Millicent having a really boozy night out in London.

"Hyperventilate" tells the story of a drug-crazed sex maniac chicken staying up past its bed time.

"Snowman" explores some women's disappointments of true gender discovery on a first date

"No Me No You" was a rant following Jem's purchacse of a defective set of alphabet garden ornaments

....can't seem to find the others....
"Putting food on the table is more important than 7/8"

Yeah, that'll do  ;)  Good work, Pedders!  :)

Edit: Just found the meaning of You/I - apparently, this is Jem's ode to a plastic bag he once chased down the street as it was being blown around by the wind.
