So, I was on my way to school earlier today and had some time whilst waiting for the bus. So I went to take a glander at the magazine offerings at the newsstand. Joyfully a new edition of Classic Rock Prog Edition revealed itself in the shelf, halfways hidden behind all the gazillion uninteresting magazines. In spite of the steep price, I picked it up noting that there would be a rather long article about Rush within.

Got home from school a couple of hours ago, and as I opened up the wrapings a new - and even more exciting - revelation appeared: There was a CD bundled.. and on it a brand new single from bands Porcupine Tree AND Darwin's Radio! Have been listening to it on repeat since.

Dec: You guys have absolutely evolved since last album, and in a good direction! The track sounds fresh and sophisticated... I'm looking forward to getting to hear the whole album!

Anyone else checked it out yet?

I'm still waiting for it to appear in the shops on this side of the pond, but I have the previous two issues. It's a really nice magazine!   :D

If by "it" you mean the magazine, yes, I seem to be lucky compared to some other UK Frost*ies because I can get a copy easily on the day it comes out. A bit pricey but very good.

If you mean the whole new Darwin's album, then heck yes! It is incredibly good, a little short but perfectly formed. You should order it as soon as you can.  :)

Not long now until the next issue of CRPP comes out - it'll be out on 30th Sept and every 2 months after that - it's switching from 4 times a year to 6 times a year.

There should be more on Darwin's Radio in the next issue - they have been interviewed for it and fingers crossed there will be an album review as well.

I think it's going from quarterly to bi monthly.(glad I spelt that right errhum) In the next issue DeeExpus / Tinyfish & All Dayer Matt fest are reviewed.

This Saturday we have PANIC ROOM , Malcolm Dome & the boss man himself Jerry Ewing are down to review the show. I will pump him for the info people. :D

Support are 20 somethings ONLY UNTIL who are SUPERB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The new Darwin's Radio album is incredible I'll play a track from it on Saturday.

Lots of Luv,

Heh, I was quite tired when I wrote this, so I'm not entirely sure what "it" was meant to be. I'll just go for both  ;)
Pricey is the word, I had to part with about £20, not sure what you pay for it over in U.K.(?)
I've been trying to find a Norwegian mailorder cd store to buy the album from with no luck. But just realized that I can probably order it directly from DR's website.. much better! Does it come with goodies just as EIMA did??

Good news that CRPP shortens down the wait between each issue. I've found it's a very good read! Unfortunately the local newsstand seems to be very inconsistent as to what magazines they offer..

Classic Rock Magazine presents PROG will be available via subscription details in the next issue. Then you'll be able to get it directly from Future Publishing, just as you can for Classic Rock Magazine.

Good Times! :D

The DR website is the way to go for now as far as getting the CD is concerned - or the merch stall at the gig at The Peel on 26th September!

No goodies for this album, just 3 gorgeous tracks of solid Prog wonderfulness, but album #3 is currently being planned (hurrah!) and there are various ideas kicking around for that at present. Can't say much right now, but it all sounds *really* exciting. Also, there will be some currently unreleased material included in the set at The Peel on the 26th September if all goes to plan!

Why is the Frost*erisk to this thread all blue and shiny, as opposed to the other white and grey ones?

Pedro

The different icons are supposed to indicate things like threads that have or haven't been read, threads that are "hot" i.e. busy and threads that you have or have not posted to (I think).

So if you examine the properties of the icon (Windows - right-click->Properties) you will see image filenames like topic_read_mine.gif or topic_read_hot_mine.gif.

I don't know the "code" so they are of little value IMHO but that's what they are meant to do.  :)

Oh, I see now.. the Frost*erisk is blue because I started the topic, and I've read the latest post. It doesn't appear in the description at the bottom of the board index, that's why I was a bit confused  :)

Thnx for the clarification Pedders, top banana!
