I'm going to the Glasgow gig and a friend of mine has bought a VIP ticket which includes an hour's tuition with PG himself   .  He's brave - I'm not sure I'd be willing to demonstrate all my guitaring shortcomings in front of one of the most accomplished guitarists on the planet...

I think one of my friends is doing the VIP thing at the Brighton gig.

I just looked rather silly in the office I was listening to PG with headphones on as someone else reviewing some video so I didn't want to disturb her.  5 songs into the album someone attracted my attention and asked why I was wearing headphones, I took them off to hear that the sound was coming through my speakers as well DOH! Stupid PC just randomly changing settings

SERIOUS ??!!! He's really doing that? That's amazing ! Met Billy Sheehan in Glasgow a few weeks ago and was was amazing, really down to earth and all that, wish though he had the time to do the 'bass lessons' though....now this is an E, that string is an A....etc, am I being too technical?

Yes, and he's taking his Ibanez Paul Gilbert guitar along, both to play and get signed - BIG fan boy!!  He just spend well over a grand on a Fender Strat Eric Johnson signature model, to add to his collection of 16 other guitars.  He takes his guitaring seriously!!!

Oh, and a bass lesson with Billy Sheehan would be the low register equivalent in terms of scariness.  When he and PG used to shred out together in Mr Big, watch out.     Isn't it a shame they only get remembered for the icky rock ballad 'To Be With You' in the same way Extreme mainly get remembered for 'More Than Words'?

Totally! I loved both of the albums they released and there are some scary riffs being traded between these guys - just wish they could have stayed together longer to hear what they came up with

Great set from PG last night good mix of solo, Racer X and Mr Big material and a couple of covers thrown into what was pretty much a 2hour set.

I was wondering the other day if Stereo was still going, I played there a few years ago - great wee venue.  The band that was headlining nearly got into a fight with the then-unknown Franz Ferdinand.

Looks like it's moved from where it was when I played there - it was in the West End back in 2003, now it's city centre.

I saw PG at a clinic earlier this year. Was great. Love the song Bronx 1971 on his latest cd.

Great gig in Glasgow last night - think I might just give up and put all my guitars on eBay after that.  Good and varied choice of material, with solo tracks and songs by Racer X, Mr Big, Hendrix, The Who and er, Frank Sinatra.
I think even Jem might have been impressed by Paul's wife Emi on keyboards.  Anyone who can keep up with PG to provide the harmonies has to be pretty good.
