Harvest Festival, like we do in primary schools and churches, but American style (ie they make a big thing of it)

Thanks Jem!  Yeah it will be a day of stuffing one's self to the point of exploding.
Then proceeding to the living room to plop our arses on the couch and watch (american) football
or some parades and slip into a hallucinatory dream sequence induced by all the turkey
enzymes that we've abundantly consumed.

It's the one day of the year that overeating is actually an accepted tradition.  I think it was
invented by some silly spanish tart with a goofy hat and moustache and a bunch of indians or something.

We sit at the table and be thankful of what wonderful things we have in life.
I for one am thankful for FROST* and I drink to that! I keep saying that someday
I'm going to write a song called "The tryptophan Blues"

Day off school for my kids. Although they live in Holland, they're going to an American international school so get the day off for a holiday they don't have much of a clue about. Same's true for most of the school though: it's 60% non-USian ...  

Actually, I think they get tomorrow off as well, cheeky little blighters ...
