I just came across the accursed vintage roland "du du du du du du du du" in a very pretty little song from Aussie alternative/pop/opera (no kidding) artist Kate Miller-Heidke.

2:39. Cool :)

Warning - the prog-elite will probably find very little of value in this song. That's OK, everybody's objectively wrong from time to time :)

That's rather lovely, actually.
And it's got nothing to do with having a fetish for standard lamps.

I wonder if it was a real CR-78.

From what I understand of her operating methods, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was a real one.

If you've read my twitter or blog entries, you'll know that I went and saw her over the weekend, and was utterly charmed by the whole experience. Operatically trained singer writes and plays near-perfect pop songs with theatrical flourishes. Works for me :)

Got to say, I don't hate that at all.  She has a quirky but pleasant voice and the chords weren't too predictable.  Still not quite interesting enough for me to actually listen to on a regular basis, but inoffensive.  Good luck to her.

I have. I would have commented on your blog but it would only have been to say I completely and absolutely agree with you :)
(That's not to say I think your recent lyrics have been gazing up their own arses - I wouldn't know, not having read 'em, innit.)

As luck would have it, that's my favourite type of comment  :P
