My copy of The Underfall Yard arrived a couple of days ago and in that time I've sort of fallen in love with it. Obviously the title track contains some fabulous synthesiser work from our very own Mr Godfrey and some sterling guitar solos from Francis Dunnery, but the rest of the album is just as exciting. New vocalist David Longdon is hugely impressive and imo BBT have really reached a new plateau with this album. I would recommend to any Frosties out there to treat themselves to an early Christmas present and snap up a copy.

Sound advice indeed.
I think that even Santa agrees because he must have been so keen for me to have it he's posted the 4-CDs-for-£27 I put on my list to the house already!
Mrs P won't let me open them until the day but this is fair enough because, thanks to the download and the mighty AmazingWilf's podcast I have been thoroughly enjoying 4 of the tracks for a couple of weeks now! :)

Buy it, you won't regret it.

Based on what I've already heard, I'm sure I'll enjoy it a lot when it arrives.

I think that's what you call a "pReview".

Sounds good: I'm subscribed to the podcasts, so in principle will take a listen. However, they're usually so long (!), I never get time to finish them before the next one arrives

rogerg

got mine today, and now I am feeling all warm and wonderful inside.  album of the year for me.  (EIMA and The Tall Ships were 2008, right?)   8-)

Mouse

Can't wait to order my copy after Christmas. From what I've heard from the podcast, it sounds like a belter.

Gandalf1986

I'm waiting for the album to arrive! :D I can't wait!

Was gonna grab it on iTunes, but it's not on there (yet?), but the older releases are. Bum. :(

RacingHippo

This is on my list for January (i.e. when I've finished paying off the Xmas expenses...). I LOVE the downloadable tracks.

Aw, go on and buy the CD.

I did, despite relative impecuniosity, and don't regret it a bit. Ditto the new Transatlantic.

I shall do if Santa doesn't bring it (fat chance).

I got really excited this evening when I got home from work, there was a padded envelope the perfect size for my Darwin's Radio CD! But it turned out to the be something the ex-missus had mistakenly had delivered here. Double insult! :(

I really thought there was something wrong with the physical copy of The Underfall Yard that Santa brought me. I imported it into iTunes several times and on playing it back on my iTouch it kept skipping at about 10:22 into the title track. Playing it back direct from the CD showed no problem at all.
After a bit of interweb searching I tried switching from mp3 encoding to AAC and that seems to have stopped it from happening. (phew)

So it seems that there's something about the track that doesn't encode very well. Does that make sense to anyone?

No, but whenever I encode my version of Master Of Puppets it stops 3/4 of the way through. But that don't help does it......
