So, whats everyones favourite albums of 2009? Doesn't have to be Prog, just anything you've liked as an album.

For me it's been:

5. NOFX - Coaster
4. Guilt Machine - On This Perfect Day
3. Riverside - ADHD
2. Transatlantic - The Whirlwind
1. Dream Theater - BC&SL

There's been loads more albums I've loved, but those 5 are definately the ones I keep listening too again & again.

Quite a few good albums this year, this is going to be a tough choice.

1. Enter Shikari - Common Dreads
2. Transatlantic - The Whirlwind
3. Dream Theater - Black Clouds & Silver Linings
4. Darwin's Radio - Template for a Generation
5. Between the Burried and Me - The Great Misdirect or Muse - The Resistance

There's definitely a few more I could of added to that, but I'll refrain for now.
"It\'s Phil Collins!... What\'s that Phil you need help with some lyrics, you think she has an Invisible Touch? Well you better ask her and find out."

In no particular order:

Transatlantic - The Whirlwind
Porcupine Tree - The Incident
Dream Theater - Black Clouds & Silver Linings
The Devin Townsend Band - Addicted
Megadeth - Endgame

Geetar

Again, in no particular order:

Riverside- ADHD
Big Big Train- The Underfall Yard
Transatlantic - The Whirlwind (and I'm still only half-way through it..)
Richard Hallebeek- One Spirit: Go for It
Arjen Lucassen's Guilt Machine- On This Perfect Day

Well, no-one said it had to be all prog.
This space for sale.

Porcupine Tree - The Incident
Darwin's Radio - Template For A Generation
Touchstone - Wintercoast
Bat For Lashes - Two Suns
Muse - The Resistance
(although I've been listening to Paul Cusick's rather excellent Focal Point CD a lot too recently).

Whilst I probably should include the Frost*Fest gig CD (especially for the intro and animal noises  ;) ), I suspect that the final version, TPE, will almost certainly make it into the 2010 list!

EDIT:  Oops!  Forgot IQ's Frequency was also a 2009 release.  Should also be in the Top 5  but don't know which one to bump!
Come on, you\'re a lion!

Oh yeah, they toured earlier this year, they played the Leeds Academy, but couldn't afford to go as it was the month after the DT/Frost* gig, so was skint from that.
