For the IB fans and/or cloggies among you, I just noticed that Messrs Mitchell and Beck are / may be scheduled to play on the second day of the iO Pages Progfestival at De Boerderij in Zoetermeer on February 27. (Other bands taking part on the 26th and 27th include Focus, Quantum Fantay, Breathing Space, 5 Bridges, Sylvan, Airbag, and Leap Day).

Anyone know quite what JM and JB will be playing? Is their participation confirmed? (JM?)

(Of course, IB as a band are on tour in the UK in March, which I'm sure you all know)

(In passing, I also note Frost*mates Magenta playing at De Boerderij on May 1: won't miss that one  :D )

Some IB tunes and some Kino tunes me thinks.
Can't make it to that gig unfortunately.......................  :|

...plus 'here comes the flood' and 'life on mars' which they do very well.

Thanks, chaps.

Should have been fairly obvious, I suppose. However, although I'm sure it's bordering on the heretical to say this here, I'm afraid I don't think I've ever heard a note of IB or Kino, something I should probably rectify ... only question would whether to do it before or after the gig  ;)

Where would I be advised to start? What are the definitive albums?

The only It Bites album with JM on so far is The Tall Ships

Both incredible albums =)

Thanks, chaps: clear advice, as ever. Didn't they write a radio show together called "That Mitchell and Beck Sound" as well, though? Must be available on iTunes ...  ;)

I believe that was David Mitchell and Robert Webb - as in the photo below
