Dammit, TA, you took the words right out of my mouth! (cue Meatloaf...)

I was going to propose "The HyperCube" as well.

See what happens when we all spend too much time hanging out around here? Soon enough, we'll start dressing alike too. What's your preferred shade of lipstick, Catherine?

I got punched in the tesseracts once, I could barely stand for half an hour after.

I find you can gain some relief by rubbing them in the fourth dimension, Jem  :D

Actually, I've found that if I wear a large enough fake moustache, I don't need to worry about lipstick.

  How is that happening?! It's too early for me to be trying to work out such things.

Simples - it's an animated GIF, innit? Same as my avatar.

I don't know about the 'tash thing but my preferred shade would have to be black darling.

You also have the advantage of being immune from punches to the tesseracts.

PS. Welcome to the new Cube, same (name) as the old Cube.

Dinnae fret, wee timorous beastie: it's merely a 4-dimensional hypercube projected into 3 dimensions and then, because I doubt you have one of the the new whizzy Apple holographic iPa3Ds (nice!), projected into 2 dimensions. Does that help?

More seriously, a proper 3D cube has a bunch of equal length sides meeting at right angles at the vertices: if you project it into 2D to draw it on a piece of paper, the lengths are no longer equal and the angles are not at 90 degrees. A tesseract is just one dimension higher, if you think about it.

But if you want to understand how the rolling inversion of the inner cube to the outer one works in that animation, I suspect you'll need to sit down in a dark place and watch it carefully while listening to Ummagumma played backwards at half speed. Always works for me  ;)

So that's how you're meant to listen to Ummagumma - knew I must be missing something!  ;)
Come on, you\'re a lion!

Mouse

  Ah, Ummagumma. Only the Floyd could go from something as lovely as Grantchester Meadows to something as bizarre and mad as Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict. Oh, and thanks for the explanation TA.  :)

I'm guessing copious amounts of chemicals were involved...

catherine

Sodium chloride, ethanoic acid and a large bag of French Fries?

The next time we have a salesman call from Everest or Anglian Windows I'm going to ask if he can give me a quote
I am out of the office. Messages can be left with Mr. C Lyons on 020 7722 3333

ummagumma sounds to me like the noise crash bandicoot made when he got hit. 90's power!

also, thats how i imagine a square would skip :)
