I found the same pic yesterday while I was searching about. It is rather glorious izznit?

I fear The Steam Cube will be more of a work in progress for the first year. I need to do some serious trawling of reclamation yards this summer.

This is the guy I'm going to be working with on my stuff

I love the mouse mat particularly.  :D

The billiard-felt mousemat is a fantastic idea, although the side barriers look a little impractical. Doubles up as a shove ha'penny board!

I do hope you're serious about the grandfather clock and decanters.

You could have my old upright piano, but it's only really useful for aesthetic value as it's completely out of tune.
I'd imagine it would be useless in a studio and I won't be at all offended it you tell me where I can stick it.

Don't forget the Steampunked Fantom G Pad Project (from an old thread) :D

I gained an appreciation for steampunk whilst playing a string of Myst-like PC adventure games in the mid-90s, then saw how it could go terribly wrong in the hands of Hollywood - Wild Wild West, anyone? Still, love the concept.

We'll have to have Johnny Mitchell playing one of those.

RWA

May I also suggest..... a hamster midi sequencer:

The hamsters run along in their little boxes, and sensors turn their movement into music. The sequencer is three note polyphonic, and each channel is controlled by two hamsters, one for the melody, one for the rhythm. It was built in 2003 by Cornell Engineering student and percussionist Levy Lorenzo, but he's unfortunately not planning a commercial version....

That is wonderful! How do people get those amazing crazy ideas?! It's a shame there are no neighbours for those animals are nocturnal, leaving that wonderful machine on at night could be fun...

Oh, and what a lovely avatar you got there Boswell! :)
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

boswell

Thanks, I was going for the terrible 1990's grainy GIF aesthetic. I think I acheived it.

And such a compliment is all the more valued when it comes from a guy with a LEGO frost logo!!! Awesome!

(And I didn't realise there were mountains in the Netherlands)

AnsOnkruid

Terrible? If the beautiful Eduard Trololo is involved it can't be that bad. And apart from calling me a guy ( ;) ), thanks! :) Need a new avatar though...  :?

My apologies madam

Make the next one out of Mechano! :D

Mouse

Or Fuzzy Felt.    Loving the new avatar too, Bos!

Stickle bricks for the win!

Thank you Mouse, I might make a less granier version. And then when I've sucked all enjoyment out of this internet mem, I'll move onto the next...
