That would be too good an opportunity to miss!

How awesome would this song be live??!!!

I could just see a very large sea of heads bobbing up and down like mad.

It's gotta be done.

Quote from: "gr8gonzo"I would think the backward portion would be best left as a sample.

Madfiddler has already expressed his willingness to do his part live, should the opportunity arise.

If Tara couldn't make it, I could perhaps do "that" violin solo... would need mucho practise, and a detuned fiddle, but hell yes!

gav

If you're using an electric violin maybe you could use a pitch shift pedal or something so you could just use one instrument for the whole thing ;)

Hey, this is prog...double-neck violin! ;)

I want one.

I don't play violin, but I want one.

Lol - that's Shankar isn't it?

Mmm pitch shifting... not really good enough quality yet.. unless the release a hardware realtime version of Melodyne ;)

It's ok though, I have a choice of 5 different violins :)

gav

Yeah, I suppose there is time to swap during the song. :)

When you're not playing you could just dance!

The current thinking is that we'll be opening the Summer's End gig with it.  :D

That's why I'm currently frantically buying Fantoms.

Bugger; the one gig I can almost definitely not make, and you're going to open with TDL  :x

Please say that you'll also play it at the Crimbo gigs: I just pre-emptively bought a pair of Islington tickets, although have no idea yet whether someone will jump on my December schedule with hobnail boots and spoil my party.

BTW, am I the only lame-o here who didn't know that Jem's beloved Genesis also wrote a song called The Dividing Line, on Calling All Stations? I just did a search for some lyrics, came up with that, and was surprised. Just goes to show that I've always been more of a Yesser than a Genesoid, although since we're talking Calling All Stations here, I can surely be excused, right?

And someone will now tell me that TDLBN was originally named for the Genesis song as well. Bah.

(And yes, on listening to the 10th anniversary interview with Jem, I realised for the first time that Fit is a mash-up of a Streets song; still hugely funny IMHO)

Ask me a question about Richard Strauss; I can do better there, I'm sure ...  ;)

according to j.jowitt over on the ark web site the frost* line up for the crimbo shows is JM  NK  and AE on drums but there's no mention of dec ?  http://www.arkmusic.co.uk/

For me, the presence of TBE is just as surprising (and welcome) as the absence of Dec (err, surely Dec must be there). I'm sure Jem will clarify matters for us ...

Not just you TA old boy. Until I read that I was also in the dark. Never got the urge to delve into that album. Now I know. More of a Camelite myself tho I do enjoy Gabrielesque Genesis. I'm often amazed just how much I've missed over the years, and am still missing!
