Bought some plain Hobnobs (i.e Non Chocolate) the other day and they taseted really strange. I think they said low fat on the packet. This probably explains a lot!

thank you Brom, that would explain a lot- the low fat substitute for a lot of foods tend to taste pretty naff, in my opinion
