I was just listening to this and Hyperventilate started playing over it, just off time; I didn't notice initially because it just sounded like you'd put the Hyper intro in like some kind of free jazz reference

Pedro

Weird when that happens, right? (although I do keep noodling the HyperV bit cos it's one of the few Frost*ie things I can actually play!)

(Still braced by the way....I think cramp is going to set in soon...)

Do you have a midi file or similar of it, Pedro?
A couple of things leapt out at me yesterday - I'm dying to have a fiddle... (robotics preparations for Singapore permitting)

 :)

I Love the Chording you did on this!  The key change of sorts at the end was Killer too! This should be developed fully!   ;)

Pedro

Hmm...not been asked to do that before.
Did you want any particular bit or shall I try to send the whole thing?

EDIT: I've sent you a midi file - channel allocations might be screwy depending on your sound sources. Good luck!

rogerg

can you post it?  or send it to me and I can, I have scads of space.

Pedro

Sent, and it's tiny really...and not perfectly formed either...  :(  ;)

Banjo/ homemade lap steel at the ready! 8-)
Broadband! A whole 2.5MB of it!

Pedro

Thanks Rog.

If anyone is trying to make sense of the midi file, I think the channel assignments are something like :-

1 Electic piano intro
2 Acoustic guitar at the end of the intro
3 Bass
4 Organ Verse#1
6 Guitar solo last verse
9 Choir last verse
10 Drums

In the meantime, I'm tinkering with the idea a bit, giving it a bit of a face list for 201...knowing the kind of talent we have out there I think the original is a bit..."pedestrian". I'd like to keep the anthemic "Endos" feel for the closing section but I think we need a bit more of an up-beat sandbox for peeps to kick around in in the middle.
I'd like to get a rough taster up in a day or so but, I said similar things 3 years ago!!
After that, maybe, I'll try to workout the overall framework so that people can see if they want to do anything with it.  :)

Ooh, careful with that thing in your lap else Pedro will need to write a counter-tenor part for you.

Ooooh I remember this Pedders!  And I'm sorry I wasn't more on the ball in trying to help taking the idea forward back in '07  :(  In fact my MiniMe remix is still gathering dust in my laptop - I'm obviously one of those people who never quite get around to completing stuff ...

It's great to see it getting a new lease of life, and that it's being listened to with lots of new sets of ears! I still think the leccy piano at the start is killer - the the way you've written new or augmented chords under the melody is inspired.

Go Frost*ies, go! :D  :D

Pedro

Thanks Sawtooth,sir.
They're only budget chords I've buffed up a bit. ;)

As for your OtherMe, you *really* should consider dusting it off, I found the snippet you sent me 3 years back and it is bally good!  :D

Hmmm, any chance of sharing this snippet? :D

That would be entirely up to Sawtooth.
If it were me, I'd rather deliver a whole piece.
