Know there are a fair few Doctor Who fans on here, and some of you may appreciate this(//http://www.peteandjeff.blogspot.com): the fictional blog of Pete and Jeff (or, as they prefer, Omega and Rassilon), two thirty-somethings sharing a flat, united by their social detachment and love of Doctor Who. Out of pocket, out of luck, and clinging to the hope that life begins at forty...

Speaking of Doctor Who, I saw the coolest thing yesterday! //http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdrqdW4Miao&feature This is a video of a guy using two Tesla Coils to play the Doctor Who theme. When I first saw it, the video appealed to every level of nerd that I am.

Much as I'm a fan of the Doctor, I've fast become a bigger fan of Amy Pond. <3
...and I can feel the world is turning...turn around

The Pondster held much promise in the still photos that somehow failed to materialise(!) in motion IMHO.
A combination of poor wardrobe choices and the "silly female" demands of the way her part has been written.

Hmm...odd, I don't feel grumpy....(BTW grumpy's solicitor just issued similar denial)...

When Lionel Blair was in a production of Snow White And The Seven Dwarves, he was having moodswings. One minute he was feeling grumpy, the next he'd come all over happy.

That is utterly amazing!
A couple of years ago I was privileged to get up close and personal with a couple of Tesla coils. Astonishing things.

Thanks. Will have to check that out.

Looking forward to tonight's episode...

On a slightly related topic...
Is it just me, or does the main theme in TDL bring to mind the Doctor Who music?

(dum) diddle-ee-dum-diddle-ee-dum-diddle-ee-dum (PAH PAH)

or something.
Music was never my best subject  :(

Whoo Hoo Chocolate hob-nobbery at last :D

Mentioned this before but there's a chap called Alex Day who's done some Dr Who-related music and videos as part of a band called Chameleon Circuit.
Obviously very big fans of the show and the use of the Who riff made me cringe a little but, if you can get past that, the lyrics are quite clever ("an awful lot of running", "Blink", and so on) and the vids are quite well done.

Also, check some of his other videos like "Lost in 3 minutes" (story explained using post-it notes) and "Spam Email" (his tale of one of those "I'm dying" let me give you my millions" scams). There's some ropey stuff there too so maybe not suitable for work and not child-friendly but it's mostly clever stuff, I think....
