So I sold the white Rolands today. The Fantom is going to a good home just north of London and the V-Synth is off to a new life in Welsh Wales.

Despite what EvilDragon says ( ;) ) they were good synths, did the job brilliantly, sounded great and served the cause well. Farewell chaps, you done good innit.

Looks like the D50 is good to go as is The Dividing Line's main axe, the Kawai K5000S.

Next thing to do is get Jeff Toman to custom spray my Nord Wave black and ready the new rig.  :D

rogerg

that is such a great Rush album.

E.S.

One of my favourite Rush albums.
Bye, white beauties. The white V-synth is the coolest looking keyboard I've ever seen. Ok, except (insert list of vintage synths here...)

DannySoisSage

Bye Fantoms =(

Am I right in thinking your new keyboard lite rig has three boards in it?

EvilDragon

Now that's a surprise right there!

What happened, Jem? Shortage of money, or getting something newer/better?

BTW, those Fantoms have their qualities for sure (they're not entirely bad boards!), but there are some things I personally cannot forgive and that's why they don't appeal for me. Effects are one of them. Roland should wake up and make a more flexible FX section. Limiting two FX slots for just reverbs and just chorus/delays is so 20 years ago. Live mode is great, but it cuts down performances from 16 slots to 8. Not to say that's not enough, but sometimes it's not enough :P

There are other small niggles I presonally dislike, but overall, it's just not my kind of board. I'm glad that you used it to its fullest extent, though. That skipback sampling video you did is gold right there. Everything in life should have skipback! :P

I was  talking with a Good Friend just today about the K5000S.  That is one seriously under rated Synth! It Has a Very Unique Sound. Damn I want My D50 Back!    Im Glad I kept all My RAM Cards!!

They may be gone from Godfrey Towers, but I still dream of a Fantom G...

E.S.

Excellent machine IMO. I got a G7 about a month ago, and I'm lovin it.
Oh, and skipback sampling just saved a brilliant little thing I played. New song!

Do not adjust your set, this entirely normal behaviour.
The average life expectancy of keyboards with Jem is n-n-n-n-not long!
I've had fewer dinners than he's had hot keyboards! :D
