It is on the cover CD with the next issue of Classic Rock Presents Prog, which has a UK street date of 7th July, if that helps :?

Well yes it does. Now I just have to figure out how to buy one...  :?

If anyone willing, I could send an amount through Paypal to buy one and send it to me... If anyone willing...

Wow this is even more exciting than the tornado that almost plowed into me
driving home from work last night!

I am very excited to hear of the news about all things Frost coming in the future!

(yes seriously the tornado was exciting to witness!)

Now I shall have to go and play TPE now...

Yay! A return to something closer to Milliontown but with a twist isn't bad in my book. Mind you, I really liked EIMA (especially the production, which to me sounds clearer and crisper than Milliontown), so I'm hoping for a third album that takes a third direction (but perhaps with a bit more of the Tony Banks-ish keyboard techniques, lyrically phrased instrumental sections, and uplifting vibe of Milliontown). But anthing Jem and the others want to commit to posterity is fine by me.

The Classic Rock Presents Prog ELP tribute CD promises to be a stonker. Not just "Fanfare", but also cover versions by Panic Room, Magenta ("Lucky man"), Alan Reed ("C'est la vie"), and I imagine a few more I've not heard the rumours about. I can't wait for 7July. :-)

Mind you, it could be absurd. Mostly Autumn doing "Karn Evil 9", IQ's "I believe in Father Christmas", The Reasoning playing "Toccata", Marillion performing "The Endless Enigma", The Enid's take on "Honky Tonk Train Blues", and Opeth rattling through "Jerusalem". Actually, that last one could work...

All good news .. can't wait to hear Fanfare  :D

It reads like Jem's interest in getting Frost back out there has become reinvigorated (hoosah!)..the effect of Craig joining?

I am intrigued by the live shows though ... without Dec playing, who is going to sing his parts from EIMA .. certainly not Jem or JM ?

Utilisation of a cunning stunt singer ? (to steal a Kenny Everett phrase)  :D

I've pondered about that, too (performing Dec vocals without Dec). I have complete faith in Jem's vocals, despite criticism he's received in the past. Hearing him live just solidified that for me. In the studio, he has a tendency to mask his vocals with effects and bury them in the mix, which I find unnecessary. The guy can sing - and very well, at that. There are tons of prog bands out there with great musicianship and crap vocals; Frost* isn't one of them.

I don't know what Craig and Nathan's vocal abilities are, but unless they've sung in a Rush tribute band, I imagine the weight is Jem's to carry. First idea that comes to mind is reworking the vocal and/or the arrangement to suit Jem's range. This may work well in parts, but not in others. I think about all the aging bands that change their songs to another key because they can't hit the high notes anymore. It's okay, but mostly makes everything sound slow, flat and sad.

Another idea is to harmonize Dec's vocal parts. If no one's got a strong falsetto, a harmonizer on Jem's vocal would do the trick. It sure sounded cool on TPE. I'm no engineer, but is there a way to set it up so only the harmony effect is heard and not the source vocal? Would that sound awful enough to warrant having Jem wear a red sweater with a big letter A on it?

Of course, an occasional sample of Dec's vocal would be welcome/awesome.
