Jackdaw4

Having found several non-prog bands via other members of this site I thought I'd give a shout for Jackdaw4, the current vehicle/brainchild of Willie Dowling.
They've just released 'The Eternal Struggle for Justice', their 3rd album - and they describe themselves as 'eclectic rock/pop'.

I think there are similarities between Willie and Jem in terms of songwriting and vision, although in different genres.
Willie is also the songwriting partner to Armstrong & Miller (BBC comedy sketch show) so has a 'mainstream' outlet akin to that of our genial host.

I like what I've heard so far and may go as far as buying the new album. Definitely falls in a vein of my musical taste along the lines of Bleu, Jellyfish, Danny Wilde/Rembrandts, The Tories/Avion, Owsley, Wings, Tim, Nick Lowe... Decent stuff by my ears, but I'm one of those freaks who likes more than prog.
