Jem

I'm knee deep in gig prep, I'm up to verse 2 of The Dividing Line programming wise. That's the only set list spoiler you'll get from me btw  , after much buggering about with keyboard rigs (I was going to use 2 Nord Waves at one point!) I'm back with a shiny new G6 which, I have to say, is delighting me all over again with it's ease of use, especially in the sampling (and more specifically multisampling) department. I have some other new toys on the rig too, some of which might not appear till the Xmas shows, but it's not a conventional keyboard rig any more which I rather like. There isn't another keyboard player out there with a rig quite like mine now.  8-)

Blunders is in Portugal (on holiday) learning lyrics, bless 'im.

I'm about to drive to Reading now, to then head into London to produce a singing session for the dayjob. After that I'm heading back to Reading (ooh, I love a rhyme) to have a Defence Of The Realm strategy meeting with Lord Connaught (or L'il JM to his mates) and Paul Tippett hopefully. There may also be some discussion of the DVD filming event.

From there we will take the wines...

Tomorrow we shall be heading (by powerboat) to Henley for the Rewind Festival to see dear Nathaniel King and The 42. He's kindly organised us some backstage as well so we can hug it out like proper men apres show.

On Sunday, I shall return home and cook a roast dinner for the fam and head back into the studio in the evening to resume programming for The Dividing Line. As you can see, Frost is very much on the agenda this weekend. I shall have you in my thoughts throughout.  :D

Now thats what I call a weekend ... not jealous in the slightest, no .... maximum jealousy, though perhaps powerboat is a little over statement, whats wrong with getting a chopper, isn't that what you rock star types use to get to festivals ?
 :D

[Rog .. I said Chopper]
... it was like watching a peach jelly f##k a steel drum ..

catherine

Surely Jem would lose all his street cred if he turned up on one of these?

dtscape10

Now if he turned up on an ORIGINAL Chopper (the one with the gears on it) then that would be CLASS!!!!!! ;)

catherine

Ah, the famous Chopper gear lever - which apparently was not ideally positioned if you were male - I've just been reading various reports of crashes on Choppers which resulted in near-castrations...

Trapezium Artist

Ah, the chopper, 1970's style. A style icon of great redolence and very definitely a key part of my childhood. That said, I simply can't remember if I ever actually owned one, or whether it was simply an object of lust that only other kids (lucky bastards) had.

Then again, I have grown up to father two children, so perhaps I didn't own one ...  ;)

MarkOneMusic

OK... Look... I'm not getting my memos...

WHAT DVD FILMING EVENT?

Where?
When?
How? (Do I get to be in the audience?)

Pedro

Read Jem's post entitled "Hello" viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2053 Item 3.

This is pretty much all we know right now.

My submission to the rumour-mill is that The Robin might play host to a day-time event at which filming takes place but this is wild supposition on my part! (har!)

Mooncat

My thought too (great minds, Pedro), especially at the Robin has nothing booked in on the Monday....................

Again only wild supposition on my part (ooeerrr) but I would have thought it would make an excellent venue for such a recording (i've got a couple of live albums recorded there and they are pretty good)
 ;)

Statistically, 6 out of 7 dwarfs are not happy

Pedro

Maybe we should do a surround mix of the Frost*ies Forum Collaboration Song for the DVD extras?  :D

Gosh, that might "up" the classification a bit and require a health warrning!
There's also another little video that will have passed its 2nd anniversary when the disc comes out. ;)

A little big video. Oh, if permissions/arrangements/agreements could be obtained/made/reached to include it, that would be more than fab.

I should point out that the powerboat is Mitchell's. It's a vintage 80's beaut to go with his Jags. He's had it refitted in classic Miami Vice trim. It's a glorious thing! :-)
