Prolly the only time I've tolerated growling is in Threshold's "Slipstream" where I think it is used quite well.

Bad curry yesterday, brilliant grunting though!

there's always one to bring down the tone :-)

Normally it's me though...

Yes, I'd agree with that one - somehow it works there.

I've been listening to Haken's Aquarius for the last few days (see here viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2016) and although its use is limited, the growling there rather spoils an otherwise good album.

I think the growling thing will date quickly and in retrospect will be seen as a rather silly idea which only impressed teenage boys who like to scare people...
Come on, you\'re a lion!

Pedro, I'm not sure you got all the lyrics quite right.

This is what I heard:

QuoteRoast beef with anything
Roast beef on fire
You are like horseradish
Eating your jodphurs
Yeah, gravy on top of it
Baked beans on your sausages, you

Icing your trout
Making it with marzipan
Putting it through
Sandwiches indeed
Your roast beef on fire
Your omelette, your words
Where I turn, it's OK
You wipe it up, gravy
I embrace your sausages
Eat them on toast, your words

Love, fire, laxatives
Help them turn through
Radiators and gravy
Eat them dead for now
Radiators and gravy
Your sausages are unbearable
Radiators and with gherkins too...

I didn't manage to transcribe it all as my browser crashed and also my sons came in and complained about the ghastly racket.

You could be right....but I still feel sorry for Reggie. He doesn't even get a mention in your version....

That sounded quite good.... up until the "vocals" anyway...

I definitely prefer either Frostie version to whatever it is he's actually singing... though if you listen just right, both are quite plausible renditions...

If they got a decent producer and fired the, er, vocalist (?????), the tune might actually be quite good!

In case anyone doesn't know (I'm sure most do here, but Googlers might find this), the quote at the start is from the 1995 film (or movie for our US friends) "The Prophecy".

Don't watch the film based entirely on your fandom for Frost*, you will be disappointed. I was. :(
