Can't justify taking so much time off of Uni around that time I don't thing...already going to two of the gigs (one of which will mean missing an entire day of lectures...um...whoops?)

You know you should do some gigs around Bristol/Exeter. Specifically Exeter. Maybe at the student union. Its probably better than Derby's...

The Cosmic Lawnmower

Might be a push for us too, we'll probably have to content ourselves with DOTR at Summers End and the Frost* Islington show.

It's expensive, keep crossing the ocean!!

Mossive Attack

I got numbers 2 and 3!

Will somewhat make up for not being able to be at DOTR 1 next week...

I'd second Exeter, if only because it'd give me reason to fly back to the university which I'm on leave from. Could give a lecture in the bar beforehand; indeed, I have a sneaky feeling I did squeeze Frost* into one of my lectures on nuclear and particle physics at one point before I left ...  8-)

Would like to see DOTR2, if only because I'll miss DOTR1 tonight. But since I'll be at the Islington gig the Friday before, I'm not quite sure how I can justify another trans-North Sea trip a week later ... hmmm ...

MadeOutOfCats

Looks like JM may be trying to get a new boat out of the next gig.

(Just read the first paragraph. And while you're doing that, I'll get my coat...)

If anyone is interested, here's what I did for my "outfit"....in case anyone else is stuck for ideas.

I already had the "military style" T-Shirt with FROST* stencilled on the front so I decided to just go for headwear because anything else was likely to be a sweat-fest.

I'd been looking for a Dad's Army style "Forage Cap" or "Garrison Cap" but these turned out to be really hard to find...and flippin' expensive! I had seen German Forage caps in a surplus store in Canterbury a while back but, since it was only the first time I'd looked, I didn't buy it.

As time went by I began to regret leaving it, but, in a stroke of luck the weekend before Summer's End we wandered into a store called "Irish" in Leicester which had a massive basement stuffed with military surplus gear and stacks of different hats including the same German forage caps. So we got a large-ish one (63) for me and a smaller one (57) for Mrs Pedro.

Bizarrely, the smaller one was £4.79 but my larger one was £2.99!

I now find that you can get them quite easily on-line at places like this shop on E-Bay in different sizes for £2.99 with free P&P. I reckon decent surplus stores might have them too.

The Frost*-ising process was remarkably easy in the end....

I bought a square of red felt from a craft store, printed and cut-out a suitably sized Frost*erisk on card, and then just cut the felt using the card template.

It was then a simple matter of just glueing the Frost*erisk over the German insignia - I had a PowerPritt" stick and this did the trick perfectly but I'm sure other glue would have done it too.

It looked like this in the end :-

..and that did the job until the sirens went off...then I had to put on my helmet....but that's another story.  :)

I'm sure that flag is upside down...

...and that would make it perfect for this Realm! :)

Actually... oh bugger the expense, yer a long time dead! And Tinyfish are on the next night too, looks like a night in the sumptuous Tolworth Tower and breaky at the Sunshine Cafe!

Mouse

I picked up my ticket at T'Peel on Saturday.  :)

robh

I got my ticket on Saturday as well.  I will be in civvies again.

The Cosmic Lawnmower

Lets hope the feckin' weather allows me to get there this time!  :x
