Doh! It doesn't matter how many smilies there are, things still get lost and confused (like me), especially internationally.
Cider reminds me too much of my misspent youth. You'd be hard pushed to drag me away from my wine, but I'll try anything (at least) once if it doesn't have a face. I'm Spain and Italy at the moment.
Veering off an a completely different tangent....where's that whippersnapper Jem? Anyone seen him?
It's in the post!

Oops, sorry, touched a nerve there apparently :D But while I travel to France (very) often and am very happy to drink your (?) wines, I have to say that New World reds are ultimately more my thing than Bordeaux. I have very fond memories of some outstanding bottles of Californian high-end reds and many, many good bottles of Australian and Chilean wines have been opened round these parts. Then again, so have many bottles of port, so I'm nothing if not catholic in my tastes  ;)

Actually, which biscuits are good with wine? If there was ever a forum to ask that on, this is the one. Bound to be something very chocolately, surely ...

Sorry: I was bs'ing, of course, trying to cover up for my confusion and muddledness (now I've drunk my Otter, I can freely admit this) ;)

Anything as long as it doesn't have a face? How about oysters (also good in Devon)? They usually manage to polarise the crowd no end ...

As for Jem, I would have thought that if anyone had his home number, it'd be you, Nellie. Give him a ring :D

There's a bit of snobbery in France about that, but I'm sure there are lots of good wines all around the world  ;)
I live near Bordeaux, here even Bourgogne is considered to be undrinkable

We usualy ask the question differently : which wine would go with this biscuit ?
In fact, there's necessarily a wine that goes with any biscuit  ;)
With a chocolate one, you may prefer a sweet white wine like Sauternes ("sweet with sweet"), or a dry one to contrast with - or Champagne!

Choc-Hob-Nob + Champagne... it's got to be tried!

In another thread I think I mentioned biscotti dunked in Cognac or Armagnac (I know it's not wine) but it's very nice.

It's ages since I did any French....I remember "boulangerie" and  "patisserie"....what do they sell at the "snobberie" or won't they let anyone in? :)

:D Jem doesn't really do phone!
You can keep your oysters, call me a wimp but I'm gagging at the thought of them. :(

Made me smile to see this on the hotel room phone last week during my visit to Uncle Sam.  :D

When you press the "Flash" button, does the phone go; "#aah-aah...king of the impossible"?
