Can anybody recommend a decent audio interface for recording?? I need a socket for a guitar/microphone. Anything under £150 would be good. It would be going into my laptop via USB.

And yes I could use Google, but that is nothing compared to the might of the technical know-how on these here forums. (Enough flattery yet?!)

At home I have a Lexicon Ionix U22, and that works great. Stereo in, stereo out, plus a dedicated input for guitar/bass. XLR's with phantom power and of course midi. Works perfectly, and didn't cost me a lot.
Something in that area?

I'm sure others know a lot more about that kind of stuff, I honestly have no idea.

Just had a quick look on Digital Village and it seems there are gallons of them. If you dont' get a useful response off here, I'd recommend popping in to your local DV and ask them for advice.

It may be worth considering getting one with midi in/out so you have the option as you can get one with midi for not a lot more.

I use a Shure X2U adapter for my mic and it works great. A little pricey at $100, but worth every penny. I'm looking at getting an Alesis LineLink Dual 1/4" adapter ($30) to go stereo direct from my synth to my PC, but can't offer a review on it yet, obviously.
