So... who else is a fan of that lovely Canadian creature?

I was just watching THIS, and.. whoa! This album is going to kick serious butt, even by DT standards.
I'm a huge fan, I think he's a brilliant singer and composer.. and he's a much better guitarist than a lot of people give him credit for.

  Wowsers. I've struggled getting into DTP, though I certainly like some of it quite a lot. This is an entirely different animal. Monsterous!
...and I can feel the world is turning...turn around

Wanted to see him in Bristol tonight but left it too late to get tickets and it's sold out

Nope. Tinyfish/Pallas and a show of Frost*erisk shirts at the CRS awards for us. Enjoy it.

Going to see him in Manchester on sunday, the day after Lighthouse Family (odd weekend much?)

Love DT, he can move through so many different styles of music and still manage to make it sound like his own. Cannot wait for this album and Ghost (the "atmospheric" album he's releasing at the same time)  :D
If you\'re considering going to Sonisphere, when you buy a ticket could you please use the code SF636M, I\'ll provide some variety of biscuits! \":)\"

Mememememememe!

I've been listening to his support act this week, he's dead good. Jem is a guest vocalist on one song, which really confused me!

Awww sorry Drarok - wish I'd seen your post before the gig, would have been nice to have a chat!
I'd heard a few snippets of Aeon Zen and thought they (he) sounded a bit like Threshold - which aint no bad thing I reckon - but need a bit more time to establish their own sound, cos they came across to me as a bit 'prog-metal by numbers. Great singer and playing but I couldnt hear any keyboards from where I was standing.

Devin was insanely fab. He's a complete bonkers nutter on stage but I love him!
Ziltoid!

Drarok

I'm pretty sure I saw you as we pulled into the carpark. Definitely some chap in a Frost* tshirt anyway - the US flag flavoured one. I shouted "Frost faaaaan" out the rear window, but no reply.
I certainly had not been drinking on the way! >_>

sawtooth

Ha ha that would have been me! :)
Didn't hear you though :(

Where's the best place to start with DT?

Devin has worked in a wide variety of styles from ambient, pop rock, punk, rock opera/spoof with Ziltoid, full-on prog metal, all the way to the darkest, nastiest death metal with his Strapping Young Lad persona (that's if you want to pigeon-hole his music into genre's).

For me, having heard most of his earlier stuff, I would recommend his latest 'Addicted!', and older albums such as Terria or Infinity as a good starting point then work out to his ambient or heavier stuff from there. Others may disagree, this is just my personal preference. Enjoy!

Oh- and nice to see you back on here Mikey  :D

Thanks, am I right in thinking DT's on some of the Dweezil albums?
