Do you all across the pond celebrate Thanksgiving? Since my family is strange we had ours today, so just thought I would ask.

As far as I know it's a North American thing. So it's this week then? I can never keep track. It's confusing enough for me that people here have started celebrating Halloween and it seems to be the same weekend as All Saints Day (which some people frown upon since they think it's disrespectful to be hanging skeletons around the place the same weekend you're supposed to be paying tribute to those who've passed).

The USA's Thanksgiving is always the 4th Thursday in November.  Canada's is in October.

All Saints Day has always been the day after Halloween here.
...and I can feel the world is turning...turn around

....I'm no expert but I think that's largely because "Halloween" is a corruption of "All Hallows Eve" i.e the night before All Saints Day.....so they are kind of stuck together.  ;)

'sright.
All Saints Day used to be known as All Hallows Day.
So if we were to be truly pedantic about it (and gods know I can be pedantic!), Hallowe'en should really be Sainte'en.
But that sounds truly stupid.
