Eddie Jobson has anounced the first date of the UK reunion tour featuring Eddie along with John Wetton and Terry Bozzio, playing together for the first time in 33 years.  There are expected to be more dates announced but currently this is the only one confirmed and is in Montreal on the 11th May 2012.

I'll post additional dates as they are announced.

I hope they play somewhere near me.  It would be great to see this line-up as I only got the chance to see the original line-up (with Alan Holdsworth and Bill Bruford) the first time round.

Now THAT is exciting! Let's hope a world tour includes a tiiiny insignificant little country up north.  :)

It would be great if they play a date or two in the uk i remember seeing them back in the day as a three peice and again as a four, shame they couldnt get holdsworth back on board but this still great news.   :D

Another date has now been announced:

May 18 - The Regency Theater, San Francisco, USA [tickets on-sale Jan. 15]

There is a new web-page which lists the dates as they are confirmed.

If you want a reminder of this trio, or don't know who they are   this is a clip from The Old Grey Whistle Test:

In the Zealots Lounge (Eddie's subscription only web-site) he talks about a total of around 30 concerts worldwide as part of this tour.  While I guess there will be quite a few in the US and Japan, I hope that there will be a few around Europe, both North and South ;)

I wonder who is doing the Holdsworth parts?

As this is a reincarnation of the second UK line-up, I'm guessing that Eddie will be taking on all the solo parts.

In the last few years Eddie has played concerts with Alex Machechek, Greg Howe and Marc Bonilla.  Personally, I think it would be great if Alex Machechek was going to tour with them as he is the closest to bringing the feel of Allan Holdsworth to the group and so getting close to the best of both groups (although Bruford had a sound and style all his own).  However the announcement limits itself to the trio, so I suppose that will be the final line-up.

I just wrote that last bit and then had another look on the Zealots site:

"Also, I must announce with regret that Terry Bozzio will not be joining us in Europe or possible South America.  Any "UK" dates on those continents will be performed as a quartet with Alex Machacek and a drummer as yet to be announced.  Terry will be playing all U.S., Canadian, and Japanese dates."

So now the question will be which drummer.  Again, Eddies usual turn-to drummer recently has been Marco Minneman so let's see what transpires.

Ahh  Alex Machechek is the UKZ guy - hes really good. MM i saw with Belew and he is stunning.

Someone say Allan Holdsworth?
Allan Holdsworth tour dates
Just in case you missed this – Allan Holdsworth will be touring venues across the States, January through April before moving  to Europe for the "first chapter" dates in May. European gigs announced so far include Germany, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland.

Joining Allan will be Jimmy Haslip (bass) and Virgil Donati (drums) and Dennis Hamm (keyboards).

UK dates to follow as well apparently (I got chatting to the promoter about the support slot but sadly didn't get it)

That's a shame - it would make a great evening.

Another date has been added on the Zealots Lounge

QuoteThe Highline Ballroom in New York City has been added to the 'UK' trio tour.  The date is Friday, May 4, 2012.

Still no indication of Europe & RoW dates.  I'll keep checking for any further news.
