« on: December 11, 2011, 05:09:14 PM »
The Classic Rock Society is thrilled to announce the launch of a new breed of covermount CD.  Called “New Species Vol 1” the 10 track CD features tracks by international artists from within both the Progressive and Classic Rock genres: Frequency Drift, White Willow, Day Six, Wobbler, Crippled Black Phoenix, Unitopia, Paul Menel, Morpheus Rising, Phideaux and Konchordat.

Not only will the CD be available with issue 187 of “Rock Society”, due out this week, but it will also be available as a covermount CD with the next editions of following Magazines:
IO Pages, Holland
Prog-resiste, Belgium
Highlands Magazine, France
Acid Dragon, France
Colossus, Finland
Fireworks Magazine (subscription issues), UK

The CD will also be sent out with orders supplied by the following online retailers: (UK)
Just for Kicks (Germany)
Marquee (Japan)

Classic Rock Society Managing Director Miles Bartaby comments:
“While there have been many covermount CDs, we are not sure that a specially-compiled CD like this has ever been available via so many different media partners.  We are immensely grateful to all of them for being so supportive and to our first 10 artists for buying into the scheme with such enthusiasm; in particular those, like Phideaux, Crippled Black Phoenix and Morpheus Rising, who gave us as-yet unreleased material.  Over 6000 CDs will be distributed in total, offering each band excellent promotional opportunities but also giving the CRS, which celebrates its 21st birthday in 2012, the chance to get our organisation better known. New Species 2 will follow in February 2012.”

Non CRS members can purchase a copy of Rock Society 187, which includes features on DeeExpus, Nightwish, Sean Filkins, Steve Hackett, Diamond Head, Unitopia and Andy Bown with free copy of New Species 1, by following this link:
