The mighty Bert just posted on the social nets :-
Want to hear the first chord from the new Frost* album?
Want to hear what Jem thinks about Celebr8?

Check out the background music too...kind of familiar.... ;)
"Putting food on the table is more important than 7/8"

?"By the beard of Zeus"

E.S.

I suggest waiting until the release date, or it will be a kind of short album. :)

But it IS a good chord though.

I for one am disappointed in the direction Jem has taken this first chord and shall not be buying the new album.

Can. Not. Wait  :D

Shirley a chord going from left to right across the screen is the right direction, even if backwards !!

Or am I still in the musical stone-age? Perhaps chords can travel vertically in a perpendicular way. Maybe? Purple did this.

Bring on ***  :D
I used to have a signature

Pygmy Hippo said of that chord: "That's so expensive it needs its own bank account!"

As for the album itself, I can't help thinking that the opening chord is rather a stylistic clash with the main body of the work, with its jaunty plinky-plonky-piano reworkings of Frost* classics.
But who am I to question the genius of JemFrodfreyfromfrost*?
* May contain nuts.

E.S.

That's a bit tricky, actually.

Tongue twister.

I, for one, am concerned by the brevity of this so called "first chord", and worry that it is indicative of a more "song oriented" direction for the new album. I don't listen to prog for "songs"! If this is not the introduction to the first part of a suite of a twenty something minute odd time widdle fest, I am not buying the album. In fact, I shall write to Mr Rick Wakeman to express my dissatisfaction.

I, on the other hand thought the chord imbued a meta-structure laden with optimism containing within itself a roadmap towards a utopian future yet at the same time hinting at a melancholic longing for a halcyon past, and within it's poly-harmonic progression a clear reflection of an intent to expand the boundaries of human understanding with a sub-contextual element that resonates with the celestial realm.

Oh, and also fluffy kittens.

Only one word for the first chord! "Biscuity"!

Played this yesterday on my laptop but missed out most of the background music due to diddy speakers.  Very cool - the "Joanna" version of Toys is great fun.

"The first chord" reminded me of "Weightless" by Thomas Dolby, a huge fave of mine (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xczeaQa5bpw) so I'm already looking forward even more than I was to the new stuff.

Brilliant to hear His Royal Highness of Madcaptomfoolery on such good form ... how I miss those Frost reports, they were the highlight of my week (how sad is that)  :D
... it was like watching a peach jelly f##k a steel drum ..

sawtooth

It sounds to me like the start-up chime for a very, very expensive computer...   :D
