Exceptional new album by Man on Fire under new formation. Well, not really a "new album" (Sept 2011), but definitely exceptional.  :D

Band now consists of founder members Jeff Hodges (vocals/keys) and Eric Sands (guitars/basses), plus Quentin Ravenel (drums), Cameron Harder Handel (trumpet), Jenny Hugh (violin), Elise Testone (guest vocals) and Steve Carrol once again for lyrics and imagery (also did lyrics on Habitat, back in 2005).

Cool! I liked that a lot.

Wait Elise from American Idol? Not the first Idol to go on to do prog either (District 97).
Yes... I watch the show. One of the few shows the missus and I can sit down and watch together. I make no apologies... :)

Quote from: "Rook"Wait Elise from American Idol?
That's her. According to either Jeff or Eric (can't recall right now), at some point after she recorded her bits, they were all together drinking and she was deciding whether to apply for the show. I myself didn't know it until far after the whole thing happened, but she does rock, doesn't she?

Also, if you liked this song, you should listen to A (Post-Apocalyptic) Bedtime Story. Wild trumpets on that one. (Or is it violin? I can't tell...)

Pretty cool stuff, isn't it? I played Chrysalis on my podcast back when the album came out. Jem cited Man on Fire as an influence of his a while back and even included "The Block" in his guest podcast on DLBN (//http://www.thedividingline.com/uti.html). I was glad to read that he's gotten around to working on another installment of "The Worm Cathedral" and can't wait to hear what he's got for us this time.
...and I can feel the world is turning...turn around

Cracking album. Think I read about them in CR or CRPP not sure... an album of "non-skippers" for me!
