Just came home from De Boerderij in Zoetermeer (note to The Amazing Wilf: it's pronounced "Dee Burder-eye", roughly) where Moon Safari played a belter: super gig. I didn't even know until yesterday that they were playing, so I'm hugely relieved that I checked the programme yesterday and had the chance to go tonight. I would have been seriously annoyed if I'd missed it, doubly so now I know how good they are live. I was very, very impressed.

So, if anyone's seeing them in Peterborough next Friday or going to Summer's End the following weekend (or seeing them elsewhere on the European tour between now and the end of the month), you're in for a real treat. Look for Moon Safari on Facebook for details.

Nice guys too; had a chat after the gig. I'll probably put some photos up on my flickr account at the weekend, if anyone's interested.

I'm nevertheless kicking myself now that I absent-mindedly left the gig tonight without picking up a copy of their tour EP, "Lover's End Part III", a lovely 25 minute epic which they played this evening. It's a tour only, limited to 1000 copies edition, I now realise, so ...

Any Frost*ie reading this who's going to one of the subsequent gigs; could we do a deal whereby you buy me a copy of the EP and I pay you for it and the postage to send it to me? Any takers? Someone going to be Verviers tomorrow??? (Help!)

Pedro

I shall see them at Summer's End so, if they have 2 left by the time I get to the Merch table I can be your last insurance.
The EP may be limited, but that doesn't mean the track won't appear on another disc, does it?

Finally, I'm still not clear on that pronunciation...when you say "roughly" do you mean "with menace"...or perhaps a gravel-throated tone? What's my motivation when I say it? I can't work like this, I'll be in my trailer....(flounce)

I think Peterborough is Thursday?  - that's the day I'm planning to go - providing the StAlbans beer fest the night before lets me!  :D I'll willingly pick up a CD for you squire.

I've only recently started to get in to them - and so far I really like what I've been hearing.

Ah, Pedro: while you may not be a God (you are far too dependable and unfickle for that), you most certainly must be a minor deity to people who wear sombreros.

If there are any tour EP's still left by Summer's End (isn't that officially this Saturday, by the way  ;) ), then I would be most grateful etc. That said, they've only made 1000, and given the response last night, they could well go quickly as long as most of the audience aren't quite as forgetful as me. Verviers, anyone?

I took a movie of them closing the set with the acapella "Constant Bloom" last night, but someone else has beaten me to uploading their version:

And it struck me after the gig that they really, really should tour with these lovely ladies (if you like perfect vocal harmonies, you absolutely must listen to Kraja: fabulous stuff):

And finally, I've added just one of my pictures from last night below, of one of the two (!) keyboard players and one of the three brothers Åkesson, Simon. Will stick more on flickr soon.

(Pedro: just imagine Ray Winstone saying "Dee Burder-eye" and you'll be close  8-) )

Ah, Brom; you are another godlet of the undergrowth, sir! At this rate, I'll have captured the aftermarket in Moon Safari tour EP's and will be rich, I tell you, rich!

Whoever gets one for me first, post here, and I shall let every other kind Frost*ie know that my woe is at an end.

Will be seeing them on a festival in Germany this weekend. Looking forward to it very much - probably because I sponsered their appearance a bit (wanted to see them play there as I love this band!).  8-)
Good times will be had.
Keep prog alive - see it live!

Oh, and "Constant Bloom" - I'm dying to hear that again! Here's my vid from 2010 in Belgium: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkGfKK_9 ... re=related

For those who may have an interest in the visual arts (!), I've put up some of my Moon Safari pictures from De Boerderij on flickr:

There are also a handful of the support band, Believe, from Poland. Always good to see a flute being played in a prog concert  ;)

Sadly, thanks to a sod of a journey home, too late to get over to P'boro in sensible time, hope Pedders can help on the CD front.

PM on its way ...  ;)

PM Inbox checked just now, nothing there...unless you meant David Cameron? ;)

Ah, stupid me: Dave will be surprised, though quite why I thought he'd be at the Moon Safari gig, I don't know. Dire Straits is more his measure.

Have tried again, this time to the real man in charge.

I was lucky enough to see them in Ruesselsheim and Lydney.  I saw them at Winter's End as well - they are very very special.  Basically no one can do what these guys do.
