Hello lovely people!

I finally finished one of my many electronic music idea thingies and posted it on Soundcloud and I thought I would share it with you all in case that's the sort of thing you enjoy. There is a tiny little nod to BLM in there too, I'd be interested to see if anyone spots it.

You can find it here: https://soundcloud.com/jake-worrell/extracelestial

Enjoy (or not), and I'd love to know what you think.

Cool, I like :) Did you actually manage to use a marimba sound and not have it sound like cheesy island music? Props on that! Nice balance on the mix and arrangement too (at least in my ipad speakers; heh)

Might be just me, but I can totally hear a big chunky distorted guitar doubling up that dirty basis sound.that's about the only thing I'd change, and that comes down to personal taste :)

LivingForever

I liked that a lot! As is to be expected from someone who basically shares my musical tastes.

Thanks Rook, that's a massive compliment all round. I think I love you.

I did consider this actually, but it is often my instinct to chuck guitars into things but I decided to fight my instinct on this occasion. I even started adding a guitar solo in the middle 8 but decided to stop procrastinating and leave it out.

Be careful what you're saying, I don't want people to think I'm a Pet Shop Boys fan.

Thanks Roger (again)

And thanks everyone for your nice comments, they've really made me smile! I need to bottle up your positivity and channel it into finishing off some more tracks!

Me likes this me does. It's a great song. :)

So many nice sounds! And the chiptune-ish sound is just lovely.

Rook

Espeeennnnnnn! Long time no see; been busy I guess. People have been posting some nice bits and bobs here, any chance you might feel like firing up the old friends of Frost song?

Sorry Jake, don't mean to derail your thread. If it helps, your track is one of the aforementioned "nice bites and boobs".

Edit for autocorrect... No, I can't bring myself to change it :)

Thanks (again) Espen! I love me some chiptune music, but love it even more when it's mixed with other styles.

No problem! Go ahead, if someone doesn't derail it soon I'm going to end up with a massive ego anyway. Thanks for complimenting me on my boobs, I grew them myself.

Love it! great build up, chunky stabs and cool chord progression. Started commenting on Soundcloud to find I was there by defaut from Miss B's account, if you were wondering where the comments went! :-)

Great stuff  :D
