Further update today on the proposed landing site.  8)

(As an aside, I also noticed a link headline on the BBC website that said "Two arrests outside "Yes" Concert" and initally wondered if TA was protesting about the lack of Jon Anderson until the penny dropped! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-29202726 )
Come on, you\'re a lion!

J for Jem? :D
Looks as if we might get a chance to make that suggestion!
"The favoured location is identified for the moment simply by the letter "J". (A public naming competition will run in due course)."
Come on, you\'re a lion!

It's really freaking amazing.

Thanks for all this, chaps (of both genders): glad to know we've still got your interest  8)

I was at landing site selection announcement press conference itself yesterday, so couldn't quite tell how it had gone over in the wider world, but there certainly are lots of little legs paddling like mad under the table to put all of this together on such a short timescale, making for a few rough edges. We didn't have time for a rehearsal, so my French colleague's viewgraphs were rather challenging, visually speaking  ;)

Any, we're well and truly on the roller coaster now; it's all go until mid-November, huge amounts of stuff to get done on many, many fronts. But 'tis very exciting indeed ...

As for being arrested at a Yes concert, my first reaction was "what, again?".

[As for naming Site J, the rules will state that it can't be named for anyone living, I'm afraid. Which Jem is. And will be. For many, many moons to come, I'm sure]

I think it should be named "Milliontown".

gr8gonzo

There are fictitious Jems. Jem of Holograms fame, Jem from 'To Kill A Mockingbird' and the Jem'Hadar, military badasses from the Gamma Quadrant (they're not alive...yet).  ;)
...and I can feel the world is turning...turn around

I think it should be named "Milliontown".

That underestimates the cost by a factor of a thousand or so ...  ;)

And it doesn't begin with "j". And it probably would be too big to put on a trendy T shirt for when TA next hosts Newsnight

Ach, Newsnight: been there, done that, got the video, and even Paxo's gone now  ;)

We went global last time:

Same polo shirt, mind you: it's the only one I've got.

If Nells were to make some small, discrete enamel Frost*erisk pins, I'm sure one could make its way onto the shirt when Jon Stewart, Graham Norton, or even (shiver) The Mighty Prof BC come calling  ;D
